And that this engine would never have gotten people into space even if today's test was successful. And that the pilot that died was her friend and she is pissed that he was basically killed over a BS test. |

Quoting: The elephant in the room* Sorry, I glossed over that, here's a primer: [link to en.wikipedia.org] SpaceShipTwo was intended to be the first sub-orbital space tourism vehicle, routinely "safely" (ha) launching tourists on sub-orbital flights into space for a few minutes at a cost of about a quarter million a ticket or so. You are truly an asset to this forum and I appreciate you. Thanks. ChayOphan |

Holy cow. I'm honestly not surprised. As I mentioned earlier, there was a real gap between the initial promises made when people started buying tickets and current promises. They clearly bit off more than they realized with this project. I will not be shocked at all if more bombshells come out about them cutting corners and compromising safety. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 50115627 United States 10/31/2014 03:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | wow, the woman on CNN Just tore Virgin a new one. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 62376822 She was apparently well connected in the program and said that the engine they were using was controversial and would never have produced the results that they wanted. It IS rocket science and the cutting edge of what is and is not possible. The people involved in this kind of thing are the best and brightest society has to offer. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 63830131 United States 10/31/2014 03:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I didn't know spaceship1 HAD ejection capability. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 50115627 I do not believe that it does. Well if they planned to get rid of this loudmouth pilot they may have installed one. Obviously by the talk and tone of her friend she must have been very vocal. Gus Grissom come to mind??? |
