Back in the 80s the police had a file on high up politicians and senior members of the royalty involved in pedo activity and they "lost" the file.

More precisely, the Home Secretary lost the file.

Now some 30 years later when most are all dead, or retired, they want an investigation into it.
Not the allegations.
How a file got lost.
They want a public enquiry to find out how a file got lost.
Nowhere do they say anything about the actual allegations contained in the file.

Now to top it off.
The current Home Secretary, manages to appoint not 1 but 2 people to head the enquiry, who both had links to people involved with the losing of the file back in the 80s.

To this day they are trying to cover it up.
They can't even get the cover up right.

One of the most surprising things I've ever heard (from an expert sexual abuse investigator) is that in over 9 out of ten cases where a perpetrator admitted guilt, no evidence of injury or sexual activity of any kind is detected in the victims. Of course there are some who are innocent that plea bargain, but still that seems hard to believe.
Another fact that surprised me is most children who are sexually abused are willing participants, which is why so few ever voluntarily report it. In nearly every case no force is used and no trauma inflicted.

My conclusion is that in at least a large percentage of cases, no real abuse occurred at all and the charge is used do destroy enemies because the courts allow prosecution with no evidence or actual witnesses. A person reasonably skilled in communicating with and manipulating children can get them to say anything they want then to, and because of the nature of the offense it works masterfully.People have all kinds of motivations to accuse others, from women trying to estrange a father from his children to political, financial and social gain.
