I was preparing a lawsuit against a large corporation and all my exhibits are missing. Did they steal them?

Naturally, the distinction between 'sneak and peek' and 'sneek and steal' is a minor one in the context where corporations use lawbreakers to evade liability.

It's worth sharing stories about these sneak and peek artists.

A few years back I was in an office building near the Court House and one of the large law firms had rented the old vault area in the basement to store the 10's of thousands of pages of exhibits they had for a lawsuit against a Fortune 100 company during the actual multi month trial.

The place where they kept them was a REAL old vault, though the huge door was gone and only the old solid steel door was still there.

Anyway they paid to put in an extensive security system ... and had armed guards there 24/7, two at night, to protect those documents. The grapevine had it that they had been using armed guards to guard those documents for almost two years ... after a bunch disappeared from their law offices a night a couple of years before, with NOTHING ELSE being stolen during the breakin, when they first started the lawsuit.

When BIG MONEY is at stake one can never be too cautious since for some businesses "self help" remedies seem to be a better and cheaper way of protecting themselves from certain types of lawsuits than the direct legal process.
