Local Municipality says I need to file a FOIL request to obtain their policies. WHY? Help!

My recoding device will be recording passively hanging in direct site of others via a strap around my neck...I will be using the sony hx300 camera but I will admit the shots it collects will include motion as I will most likely be moving around but have chose to allow it to hang passively as it records.....hands off is basically what im saying I will try my best to simply leave it on and not include talk as best I can unless questioned

Is it policy for the municipal office to report certain incidents to Child Protective Service. If so, would you please send me the policy explaining what an employee can and cannot do in any scenario as well as what criteria must be met for an acting employee to do such a thing. Thank you.

I get it. This is not a matter of National Security so your going to red tape me. None the less I will follow through with a FOIL request. Just so you know you have an irresponsible employee working for you who is rude and disrespectful. I know all it would take is a little time to copy and past your policies but as you don't want them to be public knowledge speaks volumes. Be aware. I am a person of integrity and I will follow through with this seeing as you are either immoral and bound by policy to protect a revenue generating machine. I am not stupid. Take into consideration I have already have a lawsuit against New York State department of OMRDD. I don't trust the FOIL process and am sure I will end up with nothing just as much assure that you are. Either way. Your business practices are very apparent to me to be immoral and just plain wrong in a humanitarian sense.

Something is not adding up here.

1st your power was a day late so the power company shut you off. You went to pay the bill and at that time (The first time it seems) you told them that your son needed breathing treatments. They turned the service back on. Was it not in a timely manner? If they were not previously aware of your son's condition and did not have a statement of such on record how do you expect them to forgo shutting you off on that premise?

I decided to leave seeing as I paid my bill in full. I didn't know it was them that called cps until one month later then the same employee tried to apologize and admitted that she was sorry for calling cps on me. This did not satisfy me. But I gave my graces and just left after paying the next months bill. snip

So now it is a month later and you are claiming that the power company is going to "attempt to violate me in their terms of service and have my power shut off" Yet you state in a later post that paid your bill in full including the next months bill. If they are threatening to cut you off what is their reason since your bill is paid in full?

I'm not lacking compassion here and in generally I am loathe to side with any of these vampiric companies so if I have missed something please educate me. Otherwise I have no choice but to not believe the entirety of your story.

Their first response is really weird. But stuff like that seems to happen in small towns. If it was me id be like 'wft does your response have to do with your polices? " I don't see how their policies have anything to do with freedom of information act wtf.

I must add to previous comment. My mother dies from a suiced three weeks before this incident and I lost track of time and my responsibilities which fall unto me. It was my mistake but up to that point I have never missed a payment.

Me telling them about my sons medical conditions was a mistake on my part. The bill was actually 1 day last past their shutoff notice as I was preoccupied with the process of grieving over my moms death and all that deals with such things. It is true they were unaware of my sons medical condition. however I was there and paid the bill in full at that time.

They did tuen the power on in a timely manner. That is fact. My problem is what power is granted to any electic supplier to call cps for any reason especially after the bill was paid in full

I am truly sorry for the loss of your mother. I know how all consuming that amount of grief can be. I can not fault you for forgetting to pay your bill.

This is what I don't understand. You stated that you paid that bill in full after the power was shut off then came in a month later to pay your current bill and the next months bill. What is their basis for threatening to cut you off at this time per your statement regarding the violation of your rights?

Interesting not that probably doesn't mean anything. if I am correct it is standard policy to ensure the main breaker is turned off before initiating turning on power. The male who was there to turn the power on explicitly told me he doesn't care if I have turned my main breaker off and simply removed the device and turned the power back which for some reason cause problems with my tv and playstation 3.

I think the lady called from the job and especially since she apologized they are embarassed she did it. They probably didn't know she did it until you wrote your letter.

no basis was given by the line worker to me. He just simply said they intend to disrupt the power supply to my home in the near future.....keep in mind this is hearsay by the linemen....I do not know for a fact that this is truth.

The problems with your electronic devices may well have been caused by a power surge created when he restored service.

Stop feeding the machine. You may come up with every reason not to, job, kids, house, etc. But trust me, he machine will consume you.

I left a beautiful gated community in Florida and am now farming 5 acres in Wisconsin. Rural community with great schools and great family friendly tiny tiny government. 1 part time cop, volunteer fire dept, low taxes, fresh air.

The conversation with the linemen occurred three days ago as he was doing a smart meter check for some unknown reason and when I questioned him and began small talk he decided to tell me this ominous news. Now Id prefer to not believe what he said but still in the back of my mind I wonder if they will cause some kind of disruption.

I agree ZUZU.....I think they are trying to make it hard for me to get information/ stonewalling me because they don't want to be liable.

Here's an honest opinion:

1) Pay your electrical bills on time.

2) Stop posting this stuff, there is nothing to be gained by doing it, and further things to lose.

3) Don't do the FOIA, there is nothing to gain by doing it. Steer clear of the utility.

4) Did you get to keep your child? concentrate on taking care of them and continue to pay your electrical bills and move on with your life.

5) Steer clear of the utility, don't get angry, be polite, pay your bills.

6) Mark this up as a bad experience - concentrate on something else.

7) Quit drawing attention to yourself if you have emotional / psychiatric problems because you are just digging yourself deeper into trouble with regards to the custody issue.

8 SUMMARY: LET IT GO AND MOVE ON!

59022802 all of those statements are true and obvious. I do just that. for me this is more than just letting it go. Its about the an electric company overstepping their bounds and attempting to have CPS involved which could ultimately have my children potentially taken away from me. I am not ok with this. Maybe you are. Its obvious your a pacifist and allow others to dictate what you can and cannot do. Call me what you want but I will say this. You are apart of the sheeple that just allow the government to do whatever they want. Mine as well just give up now and lie down.

If what you are about to do, confrontation with media involvement is based only on third party hearsay then PLEASE stop and regroup.

At this moment you have absolutely nothing to prove you have been wronged. I'm not saying that you haven't been only that you have no concrete proof. When it comes down to the courts and public opinion you have nothing to stand on at this time.

If you have good reason to believe this line worker then all you need do is wait. Make sure that your bills are paid before the due date and keep records and the canceled checks. If you use money orders photo copy them after they've been filled out and keep the stubs. If you pay in person make sure that the receipt you are given is accurate.

Take pictures of your meter with a camera that has date stamping. It wouldn't hurt to have a neighbor or friend inspect the meter as well and provide a notarized statement that it is in good condition and has a company lock on it. If your really paranoid (like I would be) hide a motion activated camera with a clear view of your meter.

I'm sure you've guessed where I am going with this. If you bills are paid yet they are determined to turn you off the easiest thing for them to do is damage your meter and claim that you tampered with it. People are cut off every day for this reason.

Now, if you keep your bills up and can prove that you have not touched your meter and the still cut you off? Then you will have not only a story fory the press but a lawsuit as well.

You asked for honest opinions and advice. You can obviously take or leave it but I really believe that if you go ahead with what you have now you will not be doing yourself any favors.
