YES the mother should be surprised. She is calling the cops (it says as she has done before) to get their assistance in helping her mentally ill son take his medicine. I don't know if you really want to call that "simple parenting procedures", as being a parent is not simple, now imagine being a parent to a mentally ill child. You are deluded.

Yes, the mother should be surprised that a cop showed up and killed her son after she'd called them to take him to the mental hospital more than once and it'd always ended in him not being shot.
