He was eventually sentenced to death for his efforts to return Rome to its republican roots. He could have had it all, but principles and morals carried more weight to that great man. BTW, I think the offer to Jesus was a bit more than just being a king. He also would have had to surrender a bit more too. His situation seems to be in another category altogether. |

Yeah, but then John went around and killed all the people that signed the Magna Carta and it took another uprising to stop him. And you guys also knew who was king. Nowadays they just shift from corporation to corporation so you have no clue who the fuck is who. |

Most of Washington's officers assumed Washington would declare himself King. That was just how things worked back then. Instead Washington went to Congress and laid his sword on the podium and said he was going home to run his plantation. Now, instead of men like Washington, we have Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and Obama. These people are a total disgrace compared to the founding fathers. But the truth is I didn't turn down the crown. That first sentence isn't entirely true I am referencing the Second Barons War not the first, the second Barons war was led by Simon De Montford who took King Henry prisoner at the battle of Lewes, at which point rather than De Montford killing the King and the Prince and declaring himself King he called a Parliament, it was unique because he insisted the representatives where elected rather than appointed and that it included not just the gentry but the common people to..
