Whatever this was NASA or JPL do not want any of us to see what this is! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 64929563 [link to www.youtube.com (secure)] NASA and JPL want you to see it that is why they made all these images public. The youtube video is not looking at a NASA produced image, it is this image from a company that is selling gigapan like images. [link to www.gigapan.com] That image was assembled from the images taken by the Curiosity mastcam on sol 72, here they all are in their original form. [link to mars.jpl.nasa.gov] Not all the images overlap enough to make a clean panorama, particularly this image [link to mars.jpl.nasa.gov] and the one next to it [link to mars.jpl.nasa.gov] These two images make up the "UFO", just parts of the Curiosity rover which are out of focus in the foreground. K That's *exactly* what I was going to suggest, but now I don't have to because you've proven it. Nice work. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 64929563 [link to www.youtube.com (secure)] Possible wreckage of the ship that lowered the rovers down to the Mars suface. They basically just flew off and crashed after their job was done. Might be that, but there should be other pieces around as well. Doesn't explain the blurring though. |
