Pros and cons to these.

Some will adverse effects, if not prepared properly.

Also, you need to do this, if you're not about to drive during the effects of drug.

Ideally, you should have someone there with you, in case you have a bad trip.

Much of you subconscious and feelings will be revealed.

It's highly archetypal and symbolic, which can wonderful or highly scary.

What you see an experience will be hard to interpret, since again it can be highly complex, and symbolic.

Many don't realize it's their own mind that's being revealed, and may think it's another reality.

And even then, this isn't always the case.

agreed, but as you know the human mind is far more powerful than we are led to believe.

Re: Psychedelic drugs: why not?
seriously some people end up in mental institutions for weeks, months, the life? because they swallowed an entire vile of acid which could be 1000X hits.

Mushrooms can vary in potency, and can equally fuck you up in even smaller doses eaten.

Unless you are a very loving humble person do not enter the spirit world. The end will not be good for you.

It's all a ride.

If you really must do this, for your own safety, have at least 2 other people with you, in case you have a bad trip. They can hold you down, and keep you from hurting others or yourself, if the trip goes bad.

For example for some, you may be seeing an evil entity, and will try to fight it off or even kill it.

And in reality, this 'entity' could be your friend in this physical world, trying to help you out.

Won't do any more harm than alcohol
or sugar or any number of things
people consume.

In all things, moderation.
With psychedelics, care must be taken
as to setting and regular consumption
might be a bad idea.

With cubensis mushrooms, once or twice a
year is plenty.

Yes very good point.

OP prior to taking the drug, if you feel fear, worries, anxieties, etc.

These feelings will likely be manifested in your experience, for example if you see something scary, this could simply be your own fears being manifested.

So prior to taking it, you want to be in a "setting" that makes you feel comfortable, peaceful, and safe.

So if you have people there you can trust, you'll be less worried and feel more safe.
