I study google's algo for my job and you are just plain wrong. Even the link you provided shows you are wrong. If a company has a great facebook page but a shitty website, then yes, the fb page may rank higher. No conspiracy there. That's how google has worked since social media became a big thing. There are literally thousands of factors that you are not including. Should we talk about the penguin, panda, or hummingbird algo updates? But yeah the bigger more well known and often more controversial ones are less frequent. link? there cant be a link, its solely proprietary info, google changes their search algos to generate more $$$$ for the SEO companies that rely solely on them. just like the fashion industry, the OS and APP writers, it is to keep you on the dole. this shouldn't shock you. You can probably find a lot of articles regarding how often google changes the key word algos with what relevance to word strength biasing to base their search criteria on. My best guess is that certain words carry greater weight during different months of the year and they simply revolve the words like in a pitching rotation like a baseball manager does.
