Re: Jesse Ventura: Military doesn't 'fight for our freedom'
Sadly, no. Today's U.S. military is not currently fighting for my freedom. I'm sure a lot of them tell themselves that they do. I certainly wouldn't want to think that I was just a mercenary for foreign wars. They fought for Kuwait's freedom, for the Iraqis, and the Afghans, but they aren't even allowed to properly define the enemy in those countries let alone wipe them out so that they don't come over here to attack us on our soil.

We are so blessed here in the US that our freedom isn't dependent on 11 Nimitz class aircraft carriers, billion dollar missiles, and the fastest most stealthy bombers in the world. There just is absolutely zero risk of Canada invading and our boarder patrol isn't even allowed to deal with Mexico so what in the world would our military be able to accomplish there?

I'm not knocking the good men and women who are serving, many of whom truly believe they are fighting to protect y freedom, it's just that the orders they are getting have nothing to do with protecting the freedom of American citizens here at home. We are giving up that freedom willingly with ever progressive socialist, communist, and Marxist we elect to office and the military isn't and can't do a damned thing about that.
"God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, & always, well informed... If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty... Let them take arms... What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. " - Thomas Jefferson in 1787

Re: Jesse Ventura: Military doesn't 'fight for our freedom'
He's correct. And that's not a knock on the rank-and-file military. Quite the contrary. The way our politicians and special interests treat our military is criminal -- on one hand appealing to their trust, patriotism, urge to better themselves through learning skills, etc. to recruit them; on the other hand sacrificing them to fight for corporate and special interests that have little or no benefit to American interests.

Jesse was telling it like it is. He wasn't bashing our military. He was bashing the way our military is USED by our politicians and special interests. They abuse the trust of young American men and women who generally have good intentions.

It's NOT "our military".

Brainwashing works on everyone until they start thinking for themselves. You are still brainwashed calling it "our military" and the military is brainwashed for obeying orders to invade other countries and dominate innocent people just because a higher ranking person told them to do it.

Everyone needs to STOP their brainwashing.

"Former wrestler and Minnesota governor" says it all lol

I believe he was also a Navy Seal.
 Quoting: Wash

He was a UDT and I do believe the reason that he says he will not talk about what happened in Viet Nam is because he saw no combat...

Minnesota is a strange place and they prove it every time they vote...

Re: Jesse Ventura: Military doesn't 'fight for our freedom'
Jesse Ventura defrauded the people of Minnesota to become Governor by lying about being a Navy SEAL.
VENTURA STOLE THE VALOR OF OTHERS to win the 1998 election by 56,363 votes, less than 3% of 2 million votes cast.
Ventura bribed a guy to leave the 1998 Reform Party so he wouldn't have competition in the primary and when complaints were filed against him for election violations he bribed the investigators to fix the investigation's outcome.
This is well documented in my book "ALWAYS CHEAT".
The book that knocked Ventura out of office in 2002. Call me for a complimentary copy. Leslie Davis - 612-529-5253

Ventura's wife lied under oath when she said she never heard Ventura disparage military or known him to lie. Check out this 2002 video. Wifey Lie - www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGO9gjeCX2I
