I just tried spam sushi about 6 months ago and was pleasantly surprised. Quoting: Mr Sashimi 58455506 I make mine similarly to how many do. First I fry the spam till its crispy and render out some of the fat. Then I glaze the pieces in teriyaki sauce (I use Kikkoman bottled sauce). If making musubi, one layer of rice will be seasoned with bonito furikake, and the other layer with chopped scallion. Then I sandwich together and wrap with nori. Rolls similarly. Furikake on the rice bed, then spam, then top with scallion and roll it up. |

It almost always includes seaweed, but from there the sky is the limit. Bonito is a fish, a particularly tasty one, and it is seasoned/dried and used as a flavoring. |

Sugar being the bad one, health wise, in this equation :) If you don't care about that then all is well! Personally I will stick to my prosciutto wrapped chicken legs: [link to paleoporn.net] to each his own though! :D Last Edited by Nyarlathotep on 11/13/2014 12:20 AM |

Sugar is just as valuable a nutrient as salt. You just have to eat them sensibly. |

Sugar has been known to spike insulin levels which is why I tend to stay away from at least artificial cane sugar. I stick to natural sugars like honey, maple syrup or fruits. Lower triglyceride counts = lower body fat composition. Then again, I am trying to lose weight :P I have no qualms against salt. I just drink a lot of water to combat any negative effects it has :) Last Edited by Nyarlathotep on 11/13/2014 12:32 AM |
