If you can't "see" in the future and in the past, how are you "awake"?

There are not just one state of being awake. There are some levels of it, being fully awake will happen to everyone very soon but which level will it be? You won't reach the most highest consciousness but you will make a big step towards it. If you don't know about it, how are you awake? Everyone can use this logic.
