In reality it was a very local even involving a few hunter-gatherers in a valley a long long time ago when mankind lived only in Africa, in this case near the west coast of Africa where a tsunami flooded the traditional hunting grounds of a particular tribe of hunters, and some dude's raft saved some of the tribe and a few of their pet chickens and dogs, and then after centuries of that story being told around the camp fire and spreading as mankind expanded it's territory, it grew as mythologies generally do until you have some dumbass story that only a complete retard would believe in. |
