Nuclear Test in Russia caught on Dashcam 11-18-14 | |

Doubt they would perform nuclear testing in the middle of the afternoon in a populated area, though, but they are becoming more brazen as days go by. Could be that red, smoky, silent explosion of light was just Putin pootin'. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 64871474 United States 11/19/2014 04:01 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Not a nuke. Quoting: Aradzell It was an explosion, but not a nuke. Nuclear explosions are so hot the very air burns, thus there is a lot of glow in the mushroom cloud after the initial blast. Secondly, the initial blast is blinding white not red or orange. Some of those done with Shock and Awe had these colors but this is much bigger. I hope they didn't accidentally set off one of their nukes or new technology. If a country almost blew themselves up it likely would not be on the news for a while. Not good for the bears and wild life. What if it was like that Tunguska/Tesla explosion? Could they have been playing with Tesla tech and done this? We might want to see how close to this last weird explosion is this blast. [link to earthsky.org] |

It only matches the color from the explosion light in the sky? Audiofreak |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 65296415 Probably a F.O.A.B, fuel air bomb. Nukes won't be used because they don't want to irradiate everything, all wars from here on will be fought for resources. ^ this And the US already has dibs on South America and Africa lol |

If only there was some sort magical way to do that we could all see that this is clearly not a nuke lol |

Wurzel User ID: 65245870 United Kingdom 11/19/2014 06:06 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Not nuclear, and not an explosion within the lower part of the atmosphere (note there is no effect on the clouds beyond lighting them up). Not a comet/fireball impact, as the centre doesn't move, and the glow is symmetrical. A body entering the atmosphere would show clear movement or at least asymmetry in the case of a large detonation. Not a nuclear detonation in the upper atmosphere or in orbit, as the whole world would know about it; think about the effects of the EMP on nearby satellites, for example. So... this was something new. Given the official silence, I'm guessing a new weapon, but not one that works as an EMP over large areas (they'd have tested that in remote Siberia, not the Urals!). It seems to have generated a lot of light, but little heat (again, look at the absence of an effect on the clouds); I'm really not sure what this could be, or what it is meant to do. Curious. |

Just some thoughts here, i m not sure what it is either. Ostria |

Just some thoughts here, i m not sure what it is either. I did worry a little about the idea it was heading straight towards the camera, it's true... but the odds are very slim. Even then, unless it then detonated virtually as soon as it hit the atmosphere, the drag effect of the air would slow it enough that acceleration due to gravity would increase; net effect: it seems to drop, from the perspective of the viewer. This doesn't. And even if it detonated that high in the atmosphere, we should all know about it from satellite monitoring. So even with those options, I really don't think it's possible... It's a puzzler and no mistake. |

And it seems that one HAARP installation is indeed in the Sverdlovsk region in Russia.
