Personally, I wouldn't want my son to have a CSC charge at that young age.

The only choice I can see, is he would have to be beaten to
within an inch of death and he wouldn't own or possess
another electronic device until he was 18 and out of the house.

But kudos to his father with morals and values.

Every person has a moral obligation to uphold the law. There are grey areas. I don't think turning a child in for non aggressive acts is right--there are better ways.

However, research has shown that this behavior leads to rape and preying upon women.

This is behavior that if not stopped leads directly to violent crime and sexual crime.

Unfortunately, beating the child to the point of death in lieu of turning him in would land you in prison in the country,now. More is the shame. I advocate bringing it back. Worked well n my day.

While some might think it maybe usual teenage high jinx to be spying out the naked female form for lolz or whatever - there are a number of stories where serial killers or serial rapists started out doing this window peeping thing - and so at least now this lad has had his behaviour flagged and this may prove a deterrent to any escalation to worse behaviour - and if not - then he will certainly be on the first list of suspects.

I wonder if the dad was aware of this and felt it was something he didn't want to risk dealing with himself - instead of down the track being asked - but why didn't you report it back then????

I met a girl/ woman - in Australia one time - and she actually led to the capture of a serial killer - she was his next victim - but talked him down until she got out of the house and went or help - and they got the guy and in his house was evidence linking him to three other girls who were all dead. he started off by seeing her through the window.

She went into her house - and the lights weren't working... he had removed them - he held her hostage for hours.

I don't think you're thinking this thing all the way through - the stuff was on a flashdrive - which implies the kid is computer literate - so he has access to view online - to socially interact online - he goes to school where he can socialise with females - "if he is capable"/ "feels capable" (i think this is a big issue) - but he gone a step past that (a step into the past in some ways when there were not other forms of voyeurism easily at hand) - and he has knowingly targeting these living accessible - physically accessible subjects to prey upon.

The flashdrive also indicates that he has been sharing his exploits online - if so - with whom and for what purpose?

There is, anecdotally, a large coincidence of this behavior among serial rapists, pedophiles, and murders. It was my point exactly.

I would much prefer to keep this within the "family", but only if the behavior ceased. And I would be following up for many years to make sure, as well as watching for other tells.

The general public does not realize the pervasiveness of serious mental health disorders. This comes from the removal of public funding at the federal level during the Reagan years. Now they are among us.

You wouldn't be able to tell a psychopath if they were sitting next to you. This is why we have so many in our political and corporate leadership.

He obviously hated his son and when the kid grows up will become another Brown.

I didn't say anything about throwing him in jail - I had no idea a 15 year old could be put in jail for this - I just don't blame the dad for erring on the side of taking this very seriously - on the assumption that a trip to the popo station would be a greater deterrent than dad seems to feel he is.

Maybe the father should stop letting other people do his job.

The father is at fault here, he should have taught his child to respect peoples privacy. If the kid is even guilty.

any decent parent (father especially) would know that a 15 year old is sexually curious and driven by his hormones. Remember the days of perpetual erections in high school? Or junior high?

To have photos of nude or semi-nude women seems pretty tame. If the kid was playing peeping tom in the area, then it is time to discuss with him his choice for source material.

taking nude or semi-nude photos of women (or men) without their knowledge and consent is illegal in all 50 states. You can go to jail for such behavior. If you want to see nude women the internet is full of it, mostly for free although some sites do charge for viewing their material.

Turning the kid into the police and getting him a record as a sex offender at 15 years of age is just plain friggin stupid. What a POS this father is.

If it were my son, I would simply have talked to him, explained why his taking photos of women without the permission was both morally wrong and illegal and extracted a promise from him to NEVER do this again.

But I would also realize that his hormones are playing hell with his body and mind at this age and he probably didn’t think about consequences of his actions.
