Anonymous Coward User ID: 61175364 Belgium 11/26/2014 03:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | In 2011, according to data I collected, police officers in the United States shot 1,146 people, killing 607 [link to jimfishertruecrime.blogspot.be] The government is very good at tracking the number of police officers who are killed while at work. Every year, the FBI publishes its Law Enforcement Officers Killed and Assaulted (LEOKA) report which includes a fairly accurate estimate of the number of police officers who were killed the previous year. Unfortunately, the government is not very good at tracking the number of people who were killed by police officers. I was able to find government research with some information about the number of people killed by the police for every year from 1976 up through 2011. Unfortunately, as we will see, all the estimates are afflicted by under-reporting. After reviewing the research, I found that from 1976 through 2011, police killed at least 14,012 people. |

Em18966 User ID: 65080251 United States 11/26/2014 03:26 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | And there have been something like 14 teenagers killed by cops in the US just since Michael Brown's death. At LEAST 1000 private citizens have been killed by cops since January of this year. Cops make their choices - they get a paycheck (from our tax dollars) because they want a little bit of authority and government job. They are getting paid to assume a risk, if they choose to become cops to bring home the bacon then they choose to risk their lives. No one is forcing them to do so. Their life choices shouldn't cost other people's Constitutional rights to be taken away because they are afraid or trigger happy or out of shape. They need to stop patrolling. They need to come when called. They need to stop with the money-making business of 'law enforcement' and go back to protecting and serving. They need to stop having citation quotas and being paid to convict people to add to the prison state slave labor population. [link to www.facebook.com (secure)] [link to www.thedailybeast.com] |
Em18966 User ID: 65080251 United States 11/26/2014 03:39 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I answered you question to the best of my ability. The number is actually likely much higher - these are simply confirmed police killings. The ones that are never reported to the media, the ones that are covered up with gag orders and hushed up during settlements and lying bullshit cops out to cover each others asses and the State's ass and Judges and DA's and public defenders having their goddamn coffee together - everyone working to the same end, pretending to be out for justice, but all just cogs in the machine of the USA, Inc. Fucked up system we've got. I still refuse to see this Ferguson shit as the racial drama they are trying to portray it as. It's not. I'm from Utah - the second most common homicide here is death by cop. Google it. Most of the people being shot here are NOT minorities - they simply aren't mormon-looking enough. The one guy was shot to death for not following the instructions of the cop - while wearing earbuds. It's a travesty what's happening to our personal liberties. It's 1984 and A Brave New World up in this bitch, and people are too ignorant to recognize they are demanding it. |
