Yes it's a damn shame a 12 yr old kid got killed but are these cops just to assume it's not a real gun and then take the chance they make their own children fatherless?

Kid clearly jumped up from the bench and then ran at a cop car pointing a gun. That's a surefire way to get killed, I don't care what color or age you are, that's suicide by cop.

What I don't understand is why the kid refused to drop the gun after being asked repeatedly. Seeing as it was a replica gun not a toy, I understand the officers concerns.
The officers want to go home to their families just like anyone else. It's a very real tragedy. I feel sad for his family.

Didn't watch the video did you, or you would have seen "open door shoot", there were no words.

I read this morning that the Officer who shot was a 5-month rookie, with 4 of those months in the academy. He shot before his veteran partner got out the driver door.

I stated early on that I feel this is a failure on the kid's parents part, but I also believe the rookie officer over-reacted.

I support Darren Wilson's actions.
But this one-Im hard pressed from the video to see how this officer did anything at all but just open the door and shoot.
I'd like to hear the cops story but, this doesn't look good.

Hey OP, I am not trying to derail, but the video seems to only be recorded every few seconds. If you look at the part before the police turn up, the lads actions look jerky due to the recording gap. When the police turn up, it looks like they immediately shoot - now this may be the case or it just seems that way. Horrible situation all round.
