Anonymous Coward User ID: 15690579 United States 11/29/2014 03:24 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Here's a quick story of a situation I was personally involved with years ago. Now, the situation COULD have gone south real quick. Thankfully, everyone took a deep breath and screwed their heads on straight. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 15690579 I dated this idiot long ago. I called the cops on him for knocking the shit out of me. Cops come, the idiot was hiding his hand behind his back. He did not have a gun but the cops obviously did not know that. Ok, cops now have weapons pulled. The idiot continues to sit with hand behind back. Cops warn him again to show them his hands. Luckily, he finally slowly brought his hands out in view. The idiot was unarmed. Had he not moved very cautiously, that night may have ended with gunfire. I believe if he had made any sudden moves, he would be dead... My point is. Cops aren't/ can't take any chances. I'm not going to judge all cops because a handful are jumpy. I've seen first hand how good, calm cops handle a stressful situation. Nearly everyone who has ever shot a police officer is killed in the process of trying to arrest him. For this reason, even the most brazen criminals are very reluctant to gun a cop. A copkiller is "worst" that a child molester that kills his victim. For this reason, fewer cops were gunned last year in the line of duty since 1887. The perception that police work is extremely hazardous and should allow these special provisions in the law is not justified by the statistics, or the founding principals of equal justice. If that cop had gunned your stupid boyfriend even if he did have a gun, unless the directly threatened the cop with it in my opinion it's murder. this is very simply because possession of firearms is lawful I hear ya, on some level. My question is. When is it justifiable to use deadly force? Had the idiot been armed and shot at the cops then he would have been a possible cop killer. But, by then it's too late. Like I said, luckily everyone stayed calm and nobody was hurt. All I know is, there are some really sick, evil twisted f*cks out there who mean to do harm to innocent people. I sure am grateful that the cops are just a phone call away. I also agree that some of them have no business being cops. Thanks for the response. I love hearing other peoples perspective. It helps me grow :) |

It helps me grow :) As a concealed carry individual who usually has a gun either within reach or on me, I obviously can't just gun another person down because he has a gun. He has to directly threaten me or someone else with it. Unless a police officer witnesses a person in possession of a firearm commit a crime with it, there is no legal justification for gunning him. If I did it, I'd be up on second degree murder charges and would without a doubt be convicted. You have to be able to say you had good reason to believe your life was or someone elses is being threatened (in imminent danger of being killed or seriously injured) to use deadly force, and simply having a gun doesn't qualify. My god, think about it, if it did the streets woudl be littered with bodies. |

Interdimensional Warrior User ID: 65604811 United States 11/29/2014 03:47 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If being in possession of a gun and having a known violent history justifies use of deadly force, every cop out there is creating a situation where an armed citizen can reasonably argue he believed his life was in imminent danger when confronted by an aggressive cop. That is where we are at now, and the law obviously has a double standard of conduct allowing police to shoot people simply ebcause they have guns. Damned, do you people realize how many totally innocent people are gunned down by police every year? It's fucking appalling |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 65589070 Canada 11/29/2014 03:51 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Watching shit like this pisses me right the fuck off to no end, probably because I had my own damn face stomped in by a local stormtrooper back in 2001. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 61992455 I was dating this chick who worked a lot and I was off work at the time so she'd have me do stuff like make steaks on the grill and when she'd get off work the dinner would be ready and we'd have a nice meal...well I go and buy these superb T-bone steaks for over $20 each and my grill was having issues and wouldn't stay lit. I look over across the way and see a new grill sitting on the porch of a crack house. I figure hey maybe if I give them ten bucks I could use their grill, I knew the guys because the oldest one was my brothers age and they went to school together. I was into drugs myself at the time but not crack. I go knock on their door and they said they were busy taking care of business upstairs and to have a seat in the living room and they'd be right down to discuss the grill. No sooner than as soon as I sat, there was a LOUD pounding on the door and they yelled "POLICE- SEARCH WARRANT!!". People started buzzing around like hornets for that minute before the door got kicked in. Lots of crack got jammed down the toilet but they still found small amounts on various people who were upstairs... A big black cop, who I have since found out was FIRED from his first job as a cop for using unreasonable force and fucking up someone else, told me to put my hands on the back of my head...I was scared, confused, fucking couldn't believe my luck with the wrong place at the wrong time karma shitstorm that was flapping into my face and in the panic I put my hands behind my BACK....well blackie the officer didn't like that too much he screamed "I TOLD YOU PUT YOUR HANDS BEHIND YOUR H-E-A-D MOTHER FUCKER!" and he started stomping my face into the hardwood floor. I had 8 teeth that needed filed down, two of my front teeth got broken in half, then in another moment of panic I tried to pick up my half teeth off the floor with my tongue, and they thought I was trying to conceal crack in my mouth so they fuckin beat me again! They took me outside for a quick pat down and told me to spit out the crack...I spit out my teeth in the local drug cop's hand and said I didn't have any crack, the white chunks of shit in my mouth were my teeth...fearing he could leave some kind of proof as to what they did to me, the pig tossed the broken teeth behind his back with a quick flip of his wrist and then told me "What teeth were you talkin' about bud, because I didn't see any busted teeth". I sat in police custody all night because my girl was at work, my family wasn't around at the time this shit happened either and they said I had to be released to someone who could pick me up at the city jail... well I had to sit there about 12 hours in all, and when I got a ride I ended up having to go get shots in my gums at the hospital because the pain was intense. The Dr asked me what the other guy looked like, knowing that I was showing signs of having my face smashed in repeatedly, and I explained to him that the cops did it when he told me that he sees that kind of thing all the time in my area. The place I live is straight out of a fucking mob crime caper novel, the new District Justice raped a chick I went to high school with when she was 18, the drug cop has since murdered his ex-partner, a lady cop who had shot someone in the back who was running away from her and she eventually got out of it but got fired and came to work for my small city's police force. Well here after all the fucked up shit she did and after she killed that guy by shooting him in the back, she actually started to develop a conscience that was eating at her and she was starting to talk to investigators about the crazy shit that the cops and LEO's were doing like framing people for drugs, both possession AND framing people who they said they had witnessed them doing hand to hand drug transactions in broad daylight when theres no way they saw that shit because they were hiding in their cars way way down the road. when they didn't have any on them and dirty shit like that, when she got booted off the force then they found her a day later WITH HER EYES TAPED SHUT and a bullet in her head. Also Here the drug cop was even pimping out her stripper 18 yr old daughter and everything, he plugged the leak before a lot of super damaging shit came to light...ever since she died now people in this small town of 10k people know that if the cops don't like something about you or if you cause any problems with them, THEY WILL SUICIDE YOU TOO. I have never in my life heard of a woman taping her eyes shut and shooting herself in the back of the head before until this shit happened... Because of my bad encounters with law enforcement, when I see a cop drive past me now my heart starts racing and my palms get sweaty because those assholes traumatized me and I had no dental insurance so I had to pay out of my own pocket at the Pitt Dental School to get my grill fixed. Its not perfect, but I like to show the fag cops my big smile when I see them so that they know they may have tried to break me but it didn't work. Fuck a dirty cop, nothing worse than those in positions of power who abuse the common-folk. Broh? You go to a crack house to borrow a bar-b-q and you want the cops to believe you. Cops see too much BS to believe their own mothers. Most cops see stuff that most people never witness. It makes them different than the guy who works in the mall or at a factory. Their reality is warped and they know they are feared by most and hated by just as many. They can sense people who hate and fear them and come accustom to those vibes. When they’re around people who don’t hate them or who don’t fear them, it makes some of them violent. Most cops have inflated egos but deal with the shame $hit as we all have to deal with. The fact is that they are as delusional as the rest of humanity and probably more so. Treat them as you would a wild animal you would meet hiking in the woods but realize that they too have their place and are needed for society to function as well as it does – As bad as some of them are, it would be far worse if there were no cops around. I follow trends and see things others may not be aware of. Our society is in the transformation stages from policing by humans, into one that is policed by technology. Cops are a dying species and most of them sense it. They see the same forces at work in our world as everyone else. The cop of tomorrow will more likely be a computer technician than someone who interacts with bad guys on a daily basis. As society grows beyond the ability to properly be policed by humans, robotics and computers will become the norm. Personal privacy is becoming a luxury that is pricier than what most folks can now afford. It will only become more extravagant with each passing day. Even now we’re mostly only a statistic to the system we rely upon in our day to day lives. “Going off the grid” is an illusion some entertain but there are even technologies to monitor such activities and one would only be fooling themselves if they think that flesh & blood can be cloaked in our present world let alone the world of tomorrow. Some may take comfort in seeking solace in being an “individual" within their heart/minds but there are fast approaching technologies that will easily “hack your brain” as easy as it is to set up wi-fi in a coffee shop. I suspect the tecnolagy in one form or another is aready here. Think about the time most people spend on their smartphones and the amount of personal data they are uploading to servers that analyzed and interpreted with algorithms most don't want to even admit exist. When you hear about such technologies in the news, it’s usally old news. |

Cell Therapy User ID: 21778049 United States 11/29/2014 05:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Ohio Chic that's a great video you posted there because it gives us all insight on just how LEO's take things personal when members of the general public don't react or respond in way not to their liking. They are all paid to deal with these type of situations and people accordingly. It was almost like some of those officers were releasing some steam or taking out their personal frustrations on those individuals. Obviously a great deal more of training needs to be offered to LEO's with respect to controlling their emotions within escalated situations. Cleary most of these situations were not life-threatening situations for the respective officers. Most could and should have been handled differently. Bottomline, this is why thay took the oathe and are paid to do this type of work. |

I guess stupidity has no age limits. You also obviously did not watch the video posted either. I like how most of the 'awaken, thinking-outside-of-the-box' GLP members and posters automatically jumped behind Officer Wilson's side of the story without any questions whatsoever. It all started with Wilson alledgedly politely asking Brown to get out of the street where Brown then responds by charging the officer's vehicle and attacking him while trying to grab the officer's weapon. Really GLP? Seriously? Obviously some of you need some Cell Therapy. |

How much do you think a psych test every morning they show up to work would help? Ask them if anything is bothering them on that day, are their family issues going on, are you stressed out over anything, are you tired, depressed, yada yada. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 65609287 United States 11/29/2014 05:56 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hard to discern exactly precipitated these events... anything can be taken out of context by showing only portions of an event. It would help if we knew what was going on before the cameras started rolling as I doubt, as is the case in the first video, that the cops just suddenly converged on an innocent driving down the road. Of course, I could be wrong but to draw any sort of conclusions based on these would not be wise. |

Quite a few of those people that are getting arrested, or seemingly beaten on are clearly resisting, running away, not complying, etc. however, there are quite a few that it is clearly excessive force and brutality.
