Why I love Wal-Mart
My grandparents live in a little rural town with no Wal-Mart. The result is that the smaller chain hardware and grocery stores absolutely rape the residents with their prices. The last time I was there, I bought 5 plastic bags of groceries and it cost over $120. Do you know who lives in these small towns? Poor people and old people.

I hope WAl Mart moves in and shuts these vultures down. Who will it hurt if they do? The owners of the stores and that's about it. The workers make min wage just like wal mart workers do. Who will benefit? Everyone who buys food and everyday items.

Plus, odds are the retired people own WAl Mart stock in their retirement plans.

Re: Why I love Wal-Mart
Its a double edged sword, like everything else in life...sure its nice getting stuff cheaper but wal mart treats their workers and suppliers like crap because in most of the country they are the only store in town now that they've ran out all of the other businesses and then they can charge whatever they want for things and people have no other choice besides buying off the internet or something.

This reminds me of what happened yesterday, my son was coughing and was feeling miserable so I got him some medicine at a local rite aid. It cost $11.50 for the only kind he'll take willingly. At wal mart I saw it later on in the day for $7.50. Rite Aid isn't exactly a hometown mom and pops business but same thing applies here because they're the only drug store in town they price things however high they want and some sucker like me who isn't sure where the cheapest cold meds in town are is sure to walk in every so often and buy their expensive crap like I did. Well I learned my lesson, next time I won't be paying almost 12 bucks for cough meds for my kid.
