He was raised by his mother, when she moved out of the area, he started living with his grandmother within the past year or 2. Everybody takes a lie and runs with it, h was not abandoned as a baby, his mother raised him and his sibling, and they (excluding brown) still live with her. Maybe he felt he would have more freedom living with his grandmother, or didn't want to leave his thuggish friends.

There are plenty of examples of poor parents that gives good moral education and does whatever they can to provide means for their children to became responsible productive adults. Being poor or living in the ghetto is not an excuse.
