If it were freshly spent cartridge(hot), why did the layers of wax on the floor not suffer from the heat? Something fishy about the photo, but I don't think it's the necklace. “To compel a man to furnish funds for the propagation of ideas he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.”; Thomas Jefferson |

It could be from anybody running down that hall of course; doesn't have to belong to a shooter. I wouldn't be at all surprised to find the 5.56s were old and planted. |

I've seen casings start fires. I have also seen them stick too rhino lining. I don't think they were using any thermal wax in that school. Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 47123839 United States 12/02/2014 05:54 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | One coverup scenario I've always thought possible is 1-3 young teenagers--high school or even middle school. Trying to be the next Columbine. If there was an officer-involved shooting related to some 14 year old (one officer described a "blond 12 year old") that would be pretty drastic and a no-brainer as far as scrambling to cover it up. I no longer buy the 100% slaughter rate; the more you read, the more you realize many of these victims didn't have obviously-fatal wounds. So the shooter/shooters don't have to be an Israeli assassin team or anything of that nature to have been responsible for such a high death rate. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 47123839 United States 12/03/2014 05:41 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Having a really hard time finding anything like it. It's almost like some kid wanted to make a barbed wire necklace, and maybe someone told them they could but without the barbs--using the round bead clamps/spacers(?) instead. Still looks a little homemade to me. |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 47123839 United States 12/03/2014 05:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Just totally eyeballing it, it looks like the necklace is about 7 x that of the 5.56 casing. A NATO 5.56 casing is 47.12 mm x 7 = 329.84 mm = 12.985 inches. So about 13 inches in diameter for what now appears to likely be a necklace/choker necklace. I'd say by the style, more likely to be a choker than not, but maybe jewelry people can weigh in. I also think it looks like male rather than female jewelry, but again... "In the United States, the average neck size for women is 13.5 inches and for men, 19.5 inches. The average waist circumference for women is 37.5 inches and the average for men is 39.7 inches." [link to healthyliving.azcentral.com] Anyway, there's nothing I can see in the dimensions and style so far, then, that rules it out as belonging to a middle/high school aged male. I also realize this is all just loose guessing for now. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 65732964 Germany 12/03/2014 06:22 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There is nothing barb wire like to it. Its busted on the opposute of the closing mechanism making that part look like sharp wire but it isnt. Its busted right were someone would grab and pull it down on the chest. Looks like a normal gold(or fake) necklace you can buy almost everywhere. The shell fits almost 12 times into the necklace length. It isnt a chocker and could fit a woman or a child. The whole thing doesnt make much sense as it would break in most cases where the closing is on the neck if pulled away from the owner. Any normal investigation would have checked it for dna. |
