"RED CROSS EXPOSED AS A SCAM" - Hurricane Sandy and Hurricane Isaac | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 65719374 United States 12/04/2014 09:20 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Like the Salvation Army, in my opinion, the Red Cross is a mega-organization that coasts along on its public relations image earned decades ago. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 65720651 Today's reality is a lot different from the experiences of past generations dealing with these charities. I worked for the Salvation Army 20 years ago and discovered that local volunteers do all the good work for free, while the organization is basically careful to funnel all donations into its stock portfolio. You better believe it. In this report on the shenanigans of the Red Cross, I thought back to alternative reporter Alexander Higgins - who has been missing for about a year. (Where are you, Alexander?) His home in New Jersey suffered major damage from Hurricane Sandy, and he videotaped the efforts of him and his wife to get basic emergency supplies from the Red Cross for his kids. It seems there are now many corroborating voices. Link: "Red Cross Exposed As Scam..." [link to www.naturalnews.com] :dog1: |

They may have given out water but other then that just photos. We took a family out in a boat they were scared cold and felt horrible. We walked the boat a mile in chest deep water as they shivered. When we finally them to the help are red Cross is taking photos. The elderly women says please don't take any pictures of us. Red Cross guy snaps away and said lady this is history you need to understand that. Wanted to knock that asshole out but couldn't lose my job. Sad thing is that is the only photo I saw on TV. Most people dont realize that the United Way goes to corporations and business and they get them to have events to raise money. The problem is that you can donate to any charity yourself but when you do it though the United Way your just paying their salaries. So we have a LOT of industry here in Fort Smith, AR and the United Way has their hand in almost everyone of the factories these poor people who work at the factories barley make over minim and most are illegals. They are pressured into signing a piece of paper that they agree to the the United Way get a piece of their paycheck every week. The director for the United Way here is a joke, he would always say he wished he could round up all the homeless and ship them somewhere else. REALLY!!! and he is the director of that charity. Those people who still work there DONT CARE about anyone but their status in the community. They want to be put on a pedestal and have their picture in the paper to get accolades. I know I seen it all FIRST HAND Worst of all the United Way has many different small nonprofit organizations that receive money and funds from the United Way and most of them are sincere. But the United Way has such a stronghold on them with funds that they (smaller nonprofits) are told what they can and cant do with the funds they receive, and most of them hate the United Way DONT GIVE TO THE UNITED WAY GO TO THE CHARITY OF YOUR CHOICE AND DONATE YOURSELF THAT WAY IT KEEPS THE UNITED WAYS HANDS OFF OF IT. |

Endure User ID: 60580830 United States 12/04/2014 11:34 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My dad was also in the navy in wwll and told me never to give to the red cross. It really makes you wonder why they are still in business, doesn't it? I also had my eyes open when i worked for a charity awhile back and found the top people stealing. I made them put the stuff back by shaming them but i quit after that. Its all really sad. Evil people abuse the system and not only do they enrich themselves but hurting, devastated victims suffer because of their ill gains. I tend to think that the theives have a very special sort of torture awaiting them in hell, but i'll leave that up to god. |

Guys pushing a little row boat and a big loader in the back ground Quoting: Anonymous Coward 48765161 You are sadly right. Those asses only showed up with a propane grill and nothing else near me. We had the fire department & cops setting up huge grilling locations and water stations for everyone to use. We also setup blanket and clothing spots too so everyone could stay warm. Not one of those things, other than one grill, came from the Red Cross. During a post-Sandy meeting, they kept attempting to tell the state & local reps how much they did, it did not go over so well when that became public. "If God saw what any of us did that night he didn't seem to mind. From then on I knew... God doesn't make the world this way. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand Our feet may swiftly carry out Thy commands. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. When she was caught the only thing that happened was that she had to pay the "loan" back. She is still the director and still receives her high salary. I stopped bringing donations there when I found out that the workers go through everything and get the best stuff for themselves. I'm to the point now where I would just as soon just stop and give something to someone on the side of the road, at least I know they are actually receiving the donation. |

If successful, they grow and can help more people. But then they get to a specific size and need professional managers who then turn it into a gravy train... Red Cross United Way Salvation Arm your Church etc. They all really turn into for-profit because they need to maintain their size, buildings, and payroll... :billsize: "My mom said the only reason men are alive is for lawn care and vehicle maintenance." |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 64866676 United States 12/04/2014 11:57 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well, I volunteered with the Red Cross during a major American event. I was there aiding with emergency communications. The HAM Radio had been raided of parts. We were given coaxial from a well known electronics retail shack. Years later I recounted my story in front of dozens of fire chiefs, emergency managers, and other emergency personnel. I discovered that Red Cross, like the United Way, Salvation Army, and Goodwill is top heavy with overpaid execs. So, I can add some veracity to your tale. Furthermore, I applied for an emergency coordinator job with them. I have impeccable references, an education in emergency service, a degree in hard science, EMS and fire experience, bilingual, and a partridge in a pear tree! The job went to a black female who had worked for a democratic state senator and was from a prominent family of local black school teachers. Moreover, there were two candidates who were true hero firefighters with better training, education, and experience than me! Her experience in emergency management, preparedness, or communications was nil. She did have a degree from Langston in Sociology and Masters in Organizational Leadership. Yep. The top level of emergency management is a mother fucking joke. |

My cousin's church in Orange Beach went over and cooked food for people who didn't have anything but the clothes on their backs. My old church took up a collection and bought baby bottles, formula, diapers and wipes and took down to those people. Where were the big charities when these people needed them, nowhere in sight!! |
