COOK that poultry well people!

Seven countries impose restrictions on Canadian poultry due to avian flu

snips...

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency said that more than 140,000 turkeys and chickens from the affected farms will be euthanized.

The B.C. outbreak has led at least seven countries —the United States, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, China, South Africa and Mexico — to ban poultry products from B.C. or all of Canada.

Canada’s chief veterinary officer, Dr. Harpreet Kochhar said birds from the first farms where avian influenza was detected have already been euthanized.

Kochhar said the source of the infection is not yet known, although he added that it’s possible that wild or migratory birds could have infected the farms. He said the focus is on containing the infection’s spread.

wow, just wow
political correctness is a doctrine.... fostered by a delusional, illogical minority...... and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media; which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Perfect reason to raise your own. I used to do electrical work and chicken houses are loaded with sensors and automated equipment so I worked in quite a few. I saw chickens standing on chickens standing on top of chickens. These things were so sick looking I knew then that I had to curb eating unknown origin chicken.

There are lots of places that allow a small amount even in the urban areas. As far as getting it on the plate that takes no time at all after you know what your doing. As kids we raised hundreds for 4-H year around. No parents assisted in any part, we had our on money we made from it and fed the family. And now I have no land to do large scale on but I have plenty of brown and green eggs.

And they are a bitch for some folks to move int of, etc.

But.. yeah.

Also, bird flu will be caught unless your chickens are underground (see other rant on the bug out thread)

All pork in the US now owned by China production.

A lady near me will raise a hog (8 mos min) and another dude will humanely slaughter on site, then parts go in freezer.

Raising your own heritage poultry is far better. Give them nano silver, raw ACV, yogurt, echinasia, all we make ourselves to keep them healthy.

Butcher for meat and fresh eggs whenever we want.

Keep everything organic, and clean. Don't allow traffic, unless you use gloves, shoe covers, or spray with natural disinfectants.

Beautiful yes? Dark chocolate, olive, and blue eggs.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

It's an over-abundance of caution.

Since the pathology to humans of this flue may be someone coming in contact with an infected bird.

If you touch an infected bird, even after it has been butchered and washed, you may have opportunity to catch the virus.

100,000 years? Probably not?

But humans may have always had Chickens.

I tried to look up the history of the Human-Chicken relationship once, and it is unknown. Only that it goes back to mans earliest origin.

It's sorta like Cats and Dogs, no-one REALLY knows how these animals became "Domesticated" and took up residence with humans.

Why would anyone put their faith and trust in any government these days. We say your sick, or your livestock is sick, so they are.

Its just a way to take our property, leaving us hungry, tired and poor.

Be like a chicken, and fly the coop, before they fry you.
