All I know is I wouldn't have minded being pulled over by one of these guys in the city of Lowell Massachusetts that day. So instead of seeing a dark side, be happy for the people who got pulled. Quoting: 411 [link to www.youtube.com (secure)] In Lowell, Michigan, unsuspecting drivers who thought Officer Scot VanSolkema was pulling them over for minor traffic infractions instead received presents from their holiday wish lists. Filmed Nov. 19 and 20, and posted Tuesday on YouTube, a video of their interactions has started to go viral, collecting more than 13,000 hits in mere hours. MORE.... January Wolves User ID: 62388828 United States 12/10/2014 12:02 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | That was great. I wonder if this was the first year to do that? In my area (rural) the police do a lot for kids & families at Christmas. The fifty-some officers at the jail sponsor a large family & buy ham with all the fixings, clothes and several gifts for each member of the family. They use their own money. And the PD runs a toy drive and also takes kids & their families shopping for gifts which I think their association pays for. |

And the PD runs a toy drive and also takes kids & their families shopping for gifts which I think their association pays for. I think it's new. I found this article on it from a local news site. snips.... Chief Steve Bukala says in the video, "most of the contact the police officers have with the general public is on a traffic stop and you can find a lot out about that person in that 10 to 15 minute window, whether they're having a good day, a bad day, or a horrible day. And then we got this idea: what if we could change that person's day in real time? What if we could change that person's day right now?" Chief Bukala says officers pulled over 50 drivers for the video and handed out about 30 presents, totaling about $7,000. The most expensive was a laptop computer and a Xbox gaming system, and the most modest was a curling iron. Lowell police say none of the drivers was issued a ticket. MORE....
