Why do we refer to Christmas as Xmas now?
Anyone know why there has been a incremental move towards the use of the word "Xmas" instead of "Christmas" in every day life?

Here's a supposed reason, but I don't buy it;

[link to www.grammarly.com]

IMO it looks like there's been a shift away Jesus towards something more sinister, even if it's just an X. Why does an "X" replace "Christ" if it's a celebration of Jesus' birth and not his death? Also, why the need to shorten the word in the first place?

Most people don't realise these subtle changes, but I reckon it's another shift away from celebrating the life of Jesus with pagan imagery. We already have Santa (satan), which is pagan depiction of Chronos the god of time and Saturn. God is also depicted these days as a man with a white beard.

Yeah good question. I never cared to ask where the 'X' even came from.

OP, your link is correct. The usage dates to the 16th century and has nothing to do with the so-called "War on Christmas".

I've noticed contemporary luciferians use the "x" in place of Christ as an affront to God!

Like a poster above said, I was always taught that the X was Greek for Christos or something. That the letter represented the word Christ. That Xmas wasn't anything anti-Christian, at all.

I'm kind of surprised that anyone thinks otherwise?

It's the cross turned.. More luciferian bullshit and people eat it up like hotcakes!

Oh and Christmas has nothing to do with the birth of Christ anyways.

It's Greek.

the 'mas' in Christmas means Mass by the way. Hope that's okay with the non-Catholics.

etymology of "xmas"

you get a lot of interesting articles and citations.
