Yellowstone or Asteroid would be climate chaos for sure. If 10 more large volcanoes erupt, that may be climate chaos. No Food would be chaos. Many wells that were profitable a few months ago are now losing money. As a result, most of these wells will shut down and jobs will be lost. The easy to get to oil is all but used up already. If the price is controlled by OPEC and they keep it below cost of production in other countries, the other countries will be forced to buy foreign oil. |

I guess my question is why dont we maybe spend a bit more to extract and have long term stability and a consistent predictable and stable energy price, rather than playing the unstable fluctuating price game with evil places? isnt that what logic calls for? isnt that a pretty simple concept or is there something im missing? |

Lower price/barrel makes shale oil and fracking unprofitable. -Increase demand. Lower prices encourage people to drive cars again. -Gaining political favors. Even though the shale oil industry is being destroyed, the west still likes the pressure this puts on the Russians. |

Nite Hawk User ID: 59140324 United States 12/11/2014 06:25 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Ok, I will try to help...you do research on the oil dollar and it will all make sense. I worked 23 years in oil and gas exploration. The higher the price per barrel oil went the better I could afford it. You should know that gasoline, diesel, kerosene and home heating oil are the leftovers from crude oil after all of the marketable products are stripped away. Check that out too. Gasoline was discarded until a use for it was found. There is no reason it should be priced as it is. Think about it, there are 42 gallons in a barrel of crude. If that was only gasoline and no other products were refined out 42 gallons at $2.50 a gallon is how much, yep $105.00 a barrel return. You should also know they recover natural gas along with the crude and which is also sold. Are you starting to see the truth here yet? Cheers! |

Two, we don't have enough to provide for our friends needs. ========== Most of what you said is out to lunch. But its what you didn't say that is key. The Saudi's over production is kicking ass on three enemies. 1) Iran, 2) Russia, 3) Shale oil. Obama likes all three getting beat up too. |
