Re: 100% Death Rate for Baby Killer Whales along West Coast
I just read that Orcas have one of the highest Rates of Death
in the World of Sea-Mammals, ca. 43% of them die in the first
5 Years "under normal Circumstances"!

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 65934160

This means the other 57% die from radiation

No, in your case we have no new ones but there are some Chuckle

The Article (from Op) speaks about a local Group of Residents
and not about "all Orca" in the whole World, and behind!

shhhhhhhhhh, missed by a day.... fukushima became a national secret on the 10th... and the law is retrospective so they can scrub (even more)..... i have a new radioshow (thanks to GLP and RAW Feed live) with interviews of topical interest groups.... should be cool... and eye opening, rather than jut me putting it out there ;)

the sea life is dropping dead for a reason... eyes open or shut, it's more than obvious...

I hope that you know that this Trend started well before the 3/11,
also it is only a local Group and this things happened since the beginning
of Cell-Division!

Biological Lifeforms are not created to last for ever.

Bull shit. Maybe if you folks from Japan would leave the whales alone and quit killing them all off we would have plenty of whales. Then like you didn't do enough damage you decided to have a Fuku melt down.

These life forms were around before you were leave them alone.

Highly Diluted Fukushima Radioactivity Becomes an Ocean Tracer, Providing New Insights into Ocean Circulation
Scientists predict that ocean-borne radioactive material from Fukushima will almost entirely shift from the western to the eastern North Pacific during the next five years. Smith says, however, it is important to note that the 137Cs in the ocean from Fukushima is now about equal to the background level of 137Cs from fallout that already existed in the ocean, which is extremely low.

“Even though future radioactive cesium levels in the eastern Pacific are expected to increase due to ocean transport, the levels will remain low and stay well below levels that are of concern to human health and the environment, including marine flora and fauna,” says Smith.

Computer models of ocean transport predict that cesium concentrations off the North American coastline will increase modestly in the future, says Smith, “likely peaking in the next two years before levelling off.”

Fisheries and Oceans Canada will continue sampling for radioactivity from Fukushima off the Pacific coast of Canada along Line P. The goals of the water sampling program are to identify the arrival of peak levels, verify what those peak levels are, and compare the subsequent decline in levels with that projected by various computer models.

“Data from continued sampling will also be used to assess and validate the transport models, which are used for a wide range of oceanographic research,” says Smith.

Sry TEPCO , you fucked up big time, and the real issues will be owned by the coming generations in
Japan....

For those that don't know, levels are STILL high enough where TOKYO still needs to be evacuated.....

The Levels here in Tokyo are far under the Levels of New York, London,

Are there real Towns in Troll-land Oz or only rural Villages of Cows?

No, there are more than 77 Orca in our Oceans,
this Number is related only to specific this Group of Resident Orca!

We still have Orca from Norway until Paraguay.

With respect, I think you'll find that no orcas are making it beyond 1 year.

You might search for further information from Dana Durnford & Yoichi Shimatsu.

Of course these things have nothing to do with radz. Nothing's happening to the Pacific and there's nothing to see at all and there's no extinction in progress.

Move along...it's all nothing but shill-bait, so let's see if they take it.
 Quoting: eissco

None of both understand the Ocean, none of both understand Biology,
none of both understand Sea-Life and none of both understand the Impact
from Fukushima!

It is plain Ignorance to estimate that Fukushima is responsible for this
Deaths as the only, single Reason,
but our little and very beautiful World is much more complicated!

As far as i know: this Orcas never even touched the Contaminated Water
or Fishes from that Area.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 65934160

Were you hanging out with them? You know where the contaminated fish went? You know where the orcas went? You know where the radiation has gone?

FACT: You pretend to know but you don't really know.

The hubris - it's stunning.
 Quoting: Booger Cancer

Actually we know where the Radiation from Fukushima is not,
also we know that the Prey of the local Orca is free of Fukushima Contamination
(but not free of nuclear Bomb Residue)

We also know what this Group of local Orca is doing
and we know that the Plume (from Fukushima) was not there where
the Orca had been.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 65934160

No, you don't know those things - you only think you know based on someone's analysis. But the Pacific ocean is a big place, and you don't know every single thing the orcas have eaten over the last three years or whether that food was radioactive. You also don't know where all the radiation has gone.

To think otherwise is a hubris that knows no bounds.

Remember that the US government has pretty much shut down ANY research. But even if their research were exhaustive it wouldn't be complete.

Japan has also been untrustworthy in their follow up and reporting of the Fuku disaster.

Yes, I did cure my Stage 4 cancer in two weeks when I was 48. I also reversed my chronic kidney disease (glomerulonephritis) when I was 25. In neither case were any medical treatments involved.

according to your Theory i also do not know that Radioactivity is dangerous!

This is stupid Flower

Actually we know very well what Residential Orca are eating,
we know this by Observation and Analysis,
also we know that the Prey is is not in Contact with the Colum of Fukushima Radiation!
