Night Vision Goggles for my Bug Out Bag?
YES or NO? Thoughts?

"The night cougars are a light weight dual eye/tube goggle system that are comfortable to wear and easy to use. Powered by two high quality 1st. gen+ light intensifier tubes and using fast precision optics the Night Cougar has one of the clearest and brightest images available in a 1st gen goggle. Combine all of the above with a built in infrared illuminator that lets you see in total darkness and you will be on your way to exploring even the darkest of places."

Yes. They could be very handy at night if you find yourself in a wooded area. Also, they could level the playing field if Homeland Officers are in your area and you're trying to remain hidden

Re: Night Vision Goggles for my Bug Out Bag?
Night vision is a must have.
HAWK probably has several pieces, all 3rd gen. of course.
For the average working joe, a second gen. is probably best bet money wise.
That said, your main pistol and MBR should have night sights. I prefer Tru-Glo, although I do have some Trijicon and some Meps.
Fast is fine, accuracy is final.

Ammo-buy it cheap, stack it deep.

a small cheap third generation monocular will work just fine and save you hundreds. You are just on the defensive here.

For a fixed paremeter location, I'm using a sony night vision handycam, plugged into a small tv/vcr combo, all on the 12 volt dc system. This way I can record the threat or intruder with a press of a button.
