What is the big deal over a piece of metal shaped that way? It could be a metal wind sock for all we know... Whatever it is -- it is out in the open for all to see. What strange looking sensor is hiding in your cell phone? Smart TV? Have a nice day = GFY. GFY = Go Fuck Yourself. If this offends you then have a nice day. |

GLP sleuths and techno-nuts, please help us understand what this might be. Seems some pretty notable military aerospace companies are testing some type of sensor along two different highways in CO, just outside of the Boulder city limits. Seems several people have stopped to ask the employees working at the site, and even contacted Lockheed, but everyone appears to be very evasive. Quoting: SaveUSa So, what is the thing? What might be the purpose of testing along a highly traveled highway just outside of Boulder the city limits? Are they collecting data from unsuspecting drivera as they pass by, or maybe this is a security sensor for some other military purpose? Anybody have any ideas? What strange looking sensor is hiding in your cell phone? Smart TV? True, but in this day and age, anything unusual (particularly if sanctioned by Ball and/or Lockheed Martin) might be worth knowing more about. That said, I highly doubt we will ever get an answer, but know that there are some pretty smart folks here that could possibly offer insight. Within the surreal depths of "reality" lies the truth. |

I'm guessing that this article was translated from a foreign source (poorly). There are several others on the net, but they're stingy with their content. I'd say has to do with radar acquisition of targets, using vehicles fravelling on highway. Resembles a shell or front of a missile, because that's the encasement the gear will be in the real deal. Useful to use highway as you can test acquisition of real target in amongst "chaffe" of lots of other vehicular traffic. |

The array of holes around the mid-section reminds me of the static pressure ports found in velocity measurement devices such as pitot-static tubes. I can see driving bands that are used on artillery shells. And I can see a sensor on the side . The arty shell is scanning cars. |
