There was a strange man walking around my property looking in windows and my jeep sitting out in the driveway. At first I freaked...just froze, but then I called 911. The police officers were absolutely exceptional in their response and help. They were here in no time at all, and they got the man. I have been sick all night, and I am trying to build up my courage to go out of the house. I am really having a problem with this incident. But the officers were my saving grace...God bless them. Three weeks ago, a man and his teen daughter weaseled their way into my home under false pretenses (he was suicidal due to homelessness) and before I could check references, they were moved in - like only con artists can do. Within 2 days, I realized they were robbing me right under my nose and that the girl had already been charged with possession of stolen property. She also had just beaten her mother up, broke her ribs and pelvic bone and had a restraining order against her. I had to call the police. And they came here and helped me get them out over a 2 day period (they kept delaying). Cops were so polite and never questioned my inability to stop these very rude and aggressive people. The cops saved the day for me too. I have never had a bad experience with the cops. In this town, they are wonderful, tend to be Christian and are deserve medals. I have a German Shepherd and a piece but someones, you just do not want to put yourself in a position of having to end someone's life unless yours is in danger. Glad you are okay. I understand your fear. Had a dream long ago which showed me the future and it was not pretty. Been watching closely ever since.

He saved other lives besides just mine. And, OP, you need to work on the freezing up problem. Even a few seconds can be the end of you. Part of it is a confidence issue as a woman vs a male adversary. Maybe some firearm classes at local range would help to make you more at ease with the weapons you have and not afraid to handle them. But also maybe take some weapon-less defense classes also. There are many moves worth knowing to even the playing field with a larger male opponent. Most women will always be at a some-what disadvantage to a man but there are things to learn that will even out that playing field.

Three weeks ago, a man and his teen daughter weaseled their way into my home under false pretenses (he was suicidal due to homelessness) and before I could check references, they were moved in - like only con artists can do. Within 2 days, I realized they were robbing me right under my nose and that the girl had already been charged with possession of stolen property. She also had just beaten her mother up, broke her ribs and pelvic bone and had a restraining order against her. I had to call the police. And they came here and helped me get them out over a 2 day period (they kept delaying). Cops were so polite and never questioned my inability to stop these very rude and aggressive people. The cops saved the day for me too. I have never had a bad experience with the cops. In this town, they are wonderful, tend to be Christian and are deserve medals. I have a German Shepherd and a piece but someones, you just do not want to put yourself in a position of having to end someone's life unless yours is in danger. Glad you are okay.
