You think to yourself, about the things you might complain about or fret over. What a hero - Louis just died this year. Louis Zamperini, an Olympian and WWII war hero. When he had to hold that wooden plank over his head and after such a long time . . . that fierceness that came through - AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Incredible. :innerstrength: |

I don't care to support angelina or hollywood for that matter. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 51467438 I felt the same way as you OP yet went any after hearing an interview of Louis Zamperini. May he rest in peace, he died last year. What an amazing accomplished person. You won't regret seeing it. The Coen brothers btw probably had a lot more to do with it than Jolie but I have no idea, just my opinion. |

You will get an idea of one of the last great generations of Americans who grew up poor, got experience and encouragement and unwittingly had a movie made about them. Oh wait he was white. My Dad (white) quit high school because his family was too poor to buy proper clothes for him and he was embarassed. Went into the Army and later Coast Guard. The kindest man I've ever known. Became a firefighter and married the love of his life. They had a great life together. Nowadays these parasites all want and expect their free shit without having to think or do anything positive. |

I can relate...mine joined to have in his words, one less mouth to feed and burden on his own parents during those depression years...... He was a true joy of a father...happy in every respect and happy with the simplest of things...a big ole 6'5 teddy bear to his kids. it took guts and gumption for anyone to come out of that time period with kindness, humor and grace. |
