Prayers For Clyde the Cat

My family and close group of friends has experienced five deaths in the last month and a half. Today, my mom took our cat Clyde to a followup appointment for a urinary tract infection he had last week. He has a kidney infection that, in the words of the vet, is "one of the worst things cats can get". I am waiting for her next call to see if they're going to be able to do anything for him.

This cat is literally the only thing that got my mom and I through the death of my father five years ago. If he goes right now, I will not be okay for a very long time. My mom will pretend she's fine, but that's her best friend. I've never seen a cat love a human more than Clyde loves my mom.

So, if anyone can spare a thought or a prayer for the nicest cat I have ever known (seriously, he doesn't even hunt, he chases butterflies and smells the flowers), my mom and I would really appreciate it. I just don't know what I'll do if I have to go and put this cat down tonight.
