The original story mistakenly said that ceiling was exceeded. We regret the error.) Meanwhile, government officials claimed there was nothing to worry about. “The quantities of radioactive materials reaching Canada as a result of the Japanese nuclear incident are very small and do not pose any health risk to Canadians,” Health Canada says on its website. “The very slight increases in radiation across the country have been smaller than the normal day-to-day fluctuations from background radiation.” In fact, Health Canada’s own data shows this isn’t true. The iodine-131 level in the air in Sidney peaked at 3.6 millibecquerels per cubic metre on March 20. That’s more than 300 times higher than the background level, which is 0.01 or fewer millibecquerels per cubic metre. [link to www.straight.com] Exactly this type of Information, from a well known Group of true Shills (Canadian Coalition of nuclear Responsibility & Friends) are harming the People much more than the Radioactivity from Fukushima in Canada! 3,6 "Milli-Bq" in a Cubic Meter of Air is not a Dosage, even 1.000 Cubic Meter is nothing, 100.000 is still low! To use the Term "1.000 Times Backgroundlevel" is Fearmongoloid Language! |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 11264499 United States 12/30/2014 08:21 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | OP: "We (here in Nippon) tried so many Times to debunk the Official Line but without much success and until now i don't know anyone who debunked WHOIS & Friends in a proven Way, when you know someone please provide a Link" ---------------------------------------- First off I can't help but notice that your spelling and punctuation use are quite accurate, but capitalization is way off. Any reason why? So you've tried many times to 'debunk the official line' without success? Many major news outlets have published reports disproving claims made by officials from TEPCO and the government. In fact, nearly everything initially stated by these officials concerning the disaster has been shown to be false or misleading. Regarding the 'debunking' of 'WHOI & Friends', senior scientist Ken Buesseler presented an overview of their Fukushima research efforts during a meeting of representatives from the EPA, NRC, DOE, DOD, DHS, HHS, and other federal agencies. He made it quite clear that the message being communicated to the media is focused on downplaying the effects of the radioactive material entering the ocean: - "Motivation to launch new Center of Excellence [is] public interest, concern & anxiety." - He then cites a quote he made that was published in National Geographic, “It’s actually thousands of times less than in the immediate aftermath of the disaster." - Buesseler goes on to list other media outlets that used him as a source for information that downplays the impact of the meltdowns: "NBC Nightly News; ABC World News; Weather Channel; PRI the World; NPR; AP Tokyo; NY Times; Wall Street Journal; CNN" and many others. - Then he reviews the goals: "public outreach, education and training, promote research & engineering" - Buesseler then makes a sales pitch to the US agencies in attendance: "Multiple funding partners sought: agencies, private, industry" - At the end of the presentation, he notes "Japan is leading studies, but confirmation by international labs will build public confidence." Apparently they have predetermined that their future research will reach conclusions that 1) Confirm the findings of prior Japanese studies; 2) Build public confidence. Yet, this is just one of many pieces of evidence that discredit (i.e. debunk) the claims made by WHOI about the effects of this disaster. [link to www.iscors.org] |

As part of his job, Gerlach monitors fish for contaminants such as mercury, trace metals and other contaminants. Although radiation has been detected off the Canadian coast, Gerlach says no levels have been found in water samples taken in Alaskan coastal waters. He says kelp and fish samples, which have been collected and tested, also turned up clean. The state has been monitoring four species of salmon — kings, chums, sockeyes and pinks — as well pollock, cod, halibut and sablefish. Officials collected fish tissue from four regions: the Aleutian Islands and Bering Sea, Bristol Bay, the Gulf of Alaska and the Southeast. The federal Food and Drug Administration tested the samples and found no signs of Fukushima contamination. Read the whole at: [link to www.ktva.com] "Eat more Fish"! |

Just three months after the tsunami, Smith and his team began sampling ocean water from as far as 1,500 kilometers (930 miles) off the coast of British Columbia. They took measurements from the same sites every June from 2011 to 2013, collecting 60 liters of water and then analyzing it for traces of cesium 134 and cesium 137. ..... The amount of radiation that finally made it to Canada's west coast by June 2013 was very small -- less than 1 Becquerels per cubic meter. (Becquerels are the number of decay events per second per 260 gallons of water.) That is more than 1,000 times lower than acceptable limits in drinking water, according to the Environmental Protection Agency. Computer models that match fairly closely with the hard data that Smith collected suggest that the amount of radiation will peak in 2015 and 2016 in British Columbia, but it will never exceed about 5 Becquerels per cubic meter. ..... Whole Story here: [link to www.latimes.com] 5 Bq/ Cubic Meter of Water (expected max. level) is ca. 1/8 of the Amount we see in the Irish-/ North Sea!
