The tree analogy is apt. Once we grow tall enough to see the whole forest, we realize how similar we all truly are, even in our differences.

We come from seeds planted long ago, and have the potential to reach dizzying heights.

The shorter trees would do well to heed the taller trees' observations.

I mostly agree. But, it's an engineered ignorance that serves a specific purpose. How could we possibly appreciate the perfection from which we come without experiencing the epitome of imperfection?

This lifetime of experience is a necessary evil, if you will. Even if you won't engage in this line of thinking right now, you will eventually.

Yet couldn't it be shifted to less negativity? Negativity has it's purpose. Total agreement. We could never learn appreciation any other way. Love without loss, pain without pleasure etc...

In my humble opinion, it is too extreme. (Filed in the complaint department... or the suggestion box - depends on who is running the administration nowadays.)

When Souls are coming out of here with PTSD - well, perhaps the balance could be better.
