I'm a combat vet. Much experience with Kalashnakovs. A alleged shot at point blank like that would blow the back of a guys head out. I've seen it more than a couple times. A smaller caliber would do the same. 7.62 is a nasty round. An AK isn't a pistol either. Those are big grain bullets.

It would do exactly what you saw. At that range not much. A full metal jacket bullet would cleanly go right threw. Small hole front and back. The bullet skidded on the cement. That is the effect.
