...

Never got a virus since I built this box 4 years ago. Windows 7 Ultimate with Windows update service disabled immediately upon OS install. NO anivirus program installed either.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 66965418

Why no windows updates? you realize that they patch operating systems for security issues, also performance.

unless youre running a pirated version, then i fully understand and support your pirating habits :)
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 35903249

Nope, updates just bog the system down and no virus for 4 years without an antivirus program installed speaks for itself.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 66184692

it doesnt really speak anything, you clearly are careful online and never got a driveby download. But hey, whatever works for you.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 35903249

It certainly does. I have tested it on many many sites purposely trying to get a virus. Nada for 4 years but hey, keep those updates coming on YOUR machines.

Because I remove them from other peoples computers for a fee all the time. Oh by the way they ALL have updates up and running. After the service I tell them not to but they won't have it any other way. Fine by me just repeat business.

I'm done. No more.

I got a hacked iPad that I'm on, a hacked Mac, a hacked router and my cheap ass cell phone got hacked through Bluetooth from the computer.

If whomever did / does this is waiting for capitulation so you can get a good laugh in, well here ya go.

Look around bitch, there's no money, no credit, nothing other than me giving up. And I hope to fucking god you have a job and pay taxes. Cause I'm on the dole. And am going to stay on it.

This shit has beat me down from a $165,000 a year job. But you know that already. And guess what bitch? It's all fucking gone.

So there you go. And BTW, all my goverment services applications were done on paper. God I hope you fucking pay taxes. All of You.

Re: Computer Hacked Again --Giving Up
It doesn't matter anymore. If you become a target, they never leave you be. I made the mistake of working for a govt contractor 8 years ago. It may have been a lot longer before that. I worked for a research center that had some stuff that they did, so it could have started by just being someone who might have info. I had a Solaris machine at home back then, so don't pretend Unix is bulletproof.

It got ugly when my windows work laptop connected to my home network. Honestly I didnt notice anything because I was working 10+ hours a day 6-7 days a week. I noticed my csble modem link light flashing yellow. Again, it took a few months and a few instances of WTF as netflix would grind to a halt. Found out my modem had not been registered on the cable internet for 2 years. Yet it was connected. Then I noticed getting a huge WIFI signal where before it was pretty low. Everywhere it was this one signal. Then, my iphone and windows laptop started connecting / disconnecting all the time, grabbing onto this signal. Fixed that for a short time, until literally a hundred access points would show up in the Wifi connection lists, emerging and disappearing. Every now and then my iphone would grab onto one and I'd be like what the fuck, it is not supposed to connect to unkown networks. Then, i noticed the access points changing names, going from random letters and numbers to every now and then having the name of my wifi. This signal was so strong, i put the cell phone in a box to see if it would stop connecting. For a while I was wondering if the cell phone itself was generating the connections.

My iPad got fucked up shortly thereafter, I believe after connecting it to iTunes on the PC. All the while this is going on, I start notiicing I cannot put in my work VPN IP -- it ends up going to somewhere. I think thr router then was hacked and doing the DNS hijack thing. Igot rid of my windows box and got a mac mini. I set it up, left it for a few weeks till I could mess with it. I went to upload like 4 GB of files from the laptop and I look at the router screen and the fucking thing is not sending them kto the Mac, it is sending them over the net. I tried to fucking get the mac mini fixed, it was so fucked up. I was at the apple store every other day for a few weeks, got a new one, hook it up, same shit. Of course this shit is my fault, because apple doesnt make jackable computers. Next, I'm digging around trying to find out what is going on. The screen on the mini goes blank, and the fan goes to full blast as i was trying to do a clean OS install. The fucking thing MELTED on the inside. I took it to a local computer shop and they said get another one from apple.
I can go on with another few years of this shit. Right now I have a mac that shit itself and installed a new EPF or something file. I tried to clean it up because Norton downloaded a shitty mispelled version of itself. Never found a virus, trojan or nothing. Ever. Did I have the hacked version of java on the mac? Well i sure did, as well as every goddamn "Kit" you can think of. Thanks norton, you douches. Anyway, I knew it was getting bad when I'd go to the Norton help forum and it was basically an echoroom with other suckers like me infected with god knows whaf. Same with the "apple" website. BTW, Remember they stopped putting network jacks on mac laptops. Yeah, all done with lightning bolt. Look that one up. Basically I have a piece of shit I cannot even sell. And then there's the phone. My lowly piece of shit non-smartphone. It likes to connect to the mac, ipad, and anything else with a bluetooth and entertain itself all night. So now I have a phone and a battery paperweight.

Right now, my router is bricked and my ipad is redirecting me all over the place. Don't care any more. I got two emails today from very different companies telling me I wasn't a fit for the respective jobs. Identical wording. Got them literally the second I yanked the mac off the firewall and hooked it to the router. Thanks assholes. Who the fuck konws hiow many jobs I hsve tried and the applications never got there. Who the fuck cares.

Well you've proved your point(s) and got your revenge, or entertainment, or both. Happy?

windoze collects so much hidden information in .dat .ini files it is ridiculous - i have been on windows 8 and it seems to be really good if you like windows but once you get a little confidence in knowing your pc cannot possibly get ebola and delete windoze or just overwrite it with linux (make sure you do start up recovery discs and keep them safe incase you sell as to reinstall original os) you will be fine.

I realize I'm saying all this to the fucks who so this, but in case there is another chump on here like me ... do not ever get the false sense that the firewall firmware, antivuris, operating system and complex shit cannot be fake even if the signatures and other "unique identifiers" match exactly. If they hijack your DNS, they can make you go anywhere even if you put in the IP numbers. There are entire sites in fuck kmows where that are identical to apple, microsoft, netgear, whatever. Even the https says they are official. And there ya go. You download it and you're fucked. I do not hsve an answer. I have simply stopped caring.

OP...you are getting hack because of the way you do things or the sites you visit.
 Quoting: Useless Cookie Eater
So true if he'd stop going to all those Gay Midget porn sites he wouldn't have those problems, or he could just get a good Anti-virus/firewall program (I suggest BitDefender) to stop it, that and read up on how to secure your computer.

Here's a quick and easy way to stop most of his problems
1. make sure your modem's firewall is on and unplug your landline to your computer
2. do a Hard drive wipe and complete reinstall of your operating system while its not connected to any internet
3. install your anti-virus/firewall still not on net
4. install any browser other than that malware infested
pos Internet Explorer, Chrome, FireFox, anything and only use that still not connected to net.
5. then plug in the lan line or connect wireless whatever you choice and update anti-virus
6 then don't go to the dangerous sites and stop downloading stuff just because the site you're on says you need it.

Eezy-peezy a little common sense will go along way.

Still needs to be in fairly close proximity for wireless.

Normally a router only gets out to 100 feet, but if somebody knew what they were doing, they can connect at 10 times that range, 1000 feet easily.

OP, another thing you have to think about is that your IP and other devices can be spoofed, meaning that it could have been some jerk in your area just faking a random number (to them) and it matched up to be you. Then said jerk fucks over a lot of people and boom, now that IP and other serial numbers are targeted, which just happens to be your shit.

Move, get new equipment, get a new ISP and you should be better off.
