LAST WORDS.
In blackest night the thunder rumbles,
A scourge creeps, clawing across the land.
Violence, hatred, prejudice and avarice,
As if the world were on death row.
The Grim Reaper readies to his scythe,
And sees his work has been done.
He stands in the town square,
Pools of blood congealing under a white sun.
The world spins, twisting in agony,
As a Gang rapes and ruptures Her.
The rest of humanity watches with disinterest,
Sitting inert and unmoving, with unblinking eyes.
The hangman readies his noose,
And asks for any last words.
A despairing cry, " Will no one save me, ? !! "
But humanity watches with unblinking eyes. You are a fluke of the universe.
You have no right to be here.
Whether you can hear it or not,
The universe is laughing behind your back

There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is society, where none intrudes,
By the deep sea, and music in its roar:
I love not man the less, but Nature more,
From these our interviews,in which I steal
From all I may be, or have been before,
To mingle with the Universe, and feel
What I can ne'er express, yet cannot all conceal.

 | | Re: Does anyone here do GodLike Poetry?? | Quote | The Call of The Impossible
Our godhead calls us in unrealised things.
Asleep in the wide fields of destiny,
A world guarded by Silence' rustling wings
Sheltered their fine impossibility.
But part, but quiver the cerulean gates,
Close splendours look into our dreaming eyes;
We bear proud deities and magnificent fates;
Faces and hands come near from Paradise.
What shone thus far above is here in us;
Bliss unattained our future's birthright is;
Beauty of our dim soul is amorous,
We are the heirs of infinite wide-nesses.
The impossible is the hint of what shall be,
Mortal the door to immortality.

the pen of this poet, hasn't risen in many miles,
tis not been much to sing about you see,
yes, each day brought a sunrise 'n some strangers bring smiles,
but it takes more than this to sing free,
"shame on you" says one, "what a selfish young man"
"you should be grateful for the fact that you have life"
tis more than this though, must have been more to the plan,
than proving a soul can sing whilst living in strife,
tis not fitting of this gift, this mystery and wonder,
to analyze nor fret, to do as told,
that's the opinion at least, of a wordsmith left to ponder,
how a week of simple e-mails, warms a heart growing cold,
~~ thank you for being real, sharing moments and seeing me,
tis only on this channel that I truly feel free ~~

It is by Merrit Malloy.
----
When I die give what's left of me away
to children and old men that wait to die
And if you need to cry, cry for your brother
walking the street beside you
And when you need me, put your arms around anyone
and give them what you need to give to me
I want to leave you something, something better than words or sounds.
Look for me in the people I've known or loved,
and if you cannot give me away at least let me live on in your
eyes and not on your mind.
You can love me most by letting hands touch hands,
by letting bodies touch bodies, and by letting go of children
that need to be free.
Love doesn't die, people do.
So, when all that's left of me is love, Give me away...

Its a low kind of day
Whilst I listen for birds
And the little ones heard
of it still.
Talking ne'er of the still
does she talk of it still?
Keep her quite, cool that hill..
Speak not of...
But it grates at my heart
Do you not hear it start..
When the sound of it parts
from the hill...
Break alone, not of mine
break all one, all is mine
turn one heart, turn all nine
make it one.
It won't stop, make it STILL
no I wont, its my will
for eternity, make it all REAL
for a TIME, its all MINE
Im not there, stop and stare
For all mankind, Im there to beware. |

A million billion collapsed stars compress frail human frames;
Numb to the strain.
Brittle bones begin to buckle.
Somnambulating citizens glide past in endless babbling streams.
Heedless;
Desensitized to the silent screams of fellow beings
Innocent bodies burst like dams,…
Vital fluids pour forth in buckets;
Drowning the malleable youth in nilistic waves of fear and dread.
No way out.
Bullets fly as the people die over there
Infinitely unbearably heavy.
And yet,
There are other stars still shinning bright.

Well Kandalit,...I have no boundaries as far as poetry is concerned. I am not a poet myself but an artist.
Poetry is profoundly human. My intent with this thread is spontaneity I suppose.
Given current world affairs,...I am wondering what people are thinking in verse/lyric/rap/whatever,...
Passion in the now.
I am finding it fascinating to read what artistry people are moved to post now. Whether self-penned or eternally beloved and penned by another makes me no never mind.
Thank you for posting your link,...I would be most interested in a spontaneous posting of your current mindset as well.
Namaste.

commitment to what?
Something more like you?
Something more comfortable?
More managable?
Look at me through the eyes of the creator.
Appreciating the differences in each of us.
Admiring the uniqueness in us all.
Me, I am beautiful. I am unique. I do not need to change to please you.
I like who I am. I am quite. I see things you don't see. Be quite for a change and you will see what I see.
Ok, so that didn't rhyme. But it's what is on my mind. And I think that is what you asked for.

 | | Re: Does anyone here do GodLike Poetry?? | Quote | Am thoroughly enjoying this great, inspirational thread, Zack!
Previously posted a slightly modified version of my poem below
on another thread, but since i like its message, here goes... again!
On this melodious morning, 'though the dreary day brings
brisk breezes & raindrops, a mockingbird sings.
It minds not the weather or the dark clouds of gray,
for it knows in due time these will all pass away,
& out will come sunshine, blue sky & warm day.
It continues to sing, passing time, not complaining,
unaware of the fact that it's entertaining.
It brightens my day; makes me smile as I wonder
if a storm should arise, wreaking lightning & thunder,
will the song still continue, though it cannot be heard?
What motivation is there in the heart of that bird?
Does it know how it comforts & gladdens my soul?
Does it sing for itself, or for some other goal?
Perhaps it just sings 'cause it's happy to be;
an example it sets for all humanity!
No matter the weather or chance circumstance,
how happy we'd be if we'd just sing and dance
& celebrate life, each in our own way,
just glad for the gift of every new day.
Haiku:
The Mockingbird Sings
Its Celebration of Life...
How Lovely the Song!

Beam me up, Scotty! Beam me up soon!

I have a dream of reaching heaven me and Malcolm were chatting
about impeaching presidents and how my album went platinum
im asking to pack away all of the struggles inside of me
as the nation will develop an govern our ?? society
i dream of a time when theres a cure for aids
and no longer will the people be afraid to get laid
think how great it would be to stop choosing deception
when intelligent minds replacing nuclear weapons
im heading for a dream when the weed will be legal
the homeless will have homes and we can keep feeding the people
i need to see every father keep supporting his kids
where hip hop entertains and remains informative
i dream the price of gasoline wont rise no more
so that the innocent people dont have to die over war
we will put an end to oppression the fights and constant feuding have the people unite and rewrite the constitution i have a dream
Chorus
I have a dream i want to wake up to a revolution
I have a dream people will rise up become wiser
I want to see people uniting after the fighting
I have a dream but i gotta wake up now i gotta wake up now
I have a dream my body mind and soul was united
my roles were allrighted i know how to be happy but fight it
i dream that i might have a little more control of my ticks and hold a role of some flicks where i was boning a chick
i can role up the the golden globes lacing newly stolen clothes and throw them fools while holding both the statue and a microphone
i have a dream that freestyle circles could be supportive and stop the spitting of the written that we all get bored of
a dream where people see that green is abundant
not fiend for the hundred but lend to friends that need it not love it
i covet a dream where people see a broken heart and go and mend it
not go and play the part and aid the art of co-dependence
i dream the only time our dramas is when we come about our mamas she could promise were protected from the bombers
time to dream about a day when the fear has been lifted
i shed a tear grab a beer and toast the year of the gifted i have a dream...
Chorus
I have a dream i want to wake up to a revolution
I have a dream people will rise up become wiser
I want to see people uniting after the fighting
I have a dream but i gotta wake up now i gotta wake up now
Sabac Red
i have a dream the media will build the minds of the youth
as opposed to holding us down we will keep finding the truth
we wont fall for what theyre showing us no one will be owning us
we will move towards utopia and heal all the phobias
i have a dream all my fans will keep supporting me
religion wont be based on mans organized conformity
it outta be a time of gaining our self identity
though i dream for the power the fame and wealth of the kennedys
i enter these days with the intention to change the death penalty and put lethal injections away
its eventual saving lives? people addicted, racism will be a evicted we will be equal to kick it
its a wicked world that WE possess the power to change
and poverty depression unless it is ours to claim
the games to believe i dare you to become what it means
i found it only right and fair to share some of these dreams i have a dream..

The new day has dawned golden and crisp. life is a breeze smooth and brisk. Thinking about me where do i stand ? I need someone to take my hand. Hold me close don't let me go. hurting comes easy don't let it show. why is it now i feel left out please Lord tell me whats its all about. I’m not the first to shake my head
And wonder where we’re being led
By arrogant people drunk with power
And crafty cheaters in steel-lined towers
This has happened before
I’m not the first
To want to roar
And quench my thirst
For peace and plenty, shared by all
Not just the rich with greedy jaws
Whose reign must end lest democracy fall
Once again into their empty maws
This has happened before:
Aristocracy’s rise
That time, revolution and war
Were the people’s cries
They thought they had found
A final solution
To draft a sound
And stable constitution
Our freedom is guarded by that document frail
Attacked and ignored it will die if we fail
To talk back to power, to vote and to fight
As our forefathers did, and I pray that we might
This has happened before
It will happen again
Only with vigilance and more
Can the people truly reign. |

| Mr Spock User ID: 125116 8/19/2006 12:27 AM | | Re: Does anyone here do GodLike Poetry?? | Quote | By the Murky River Gwydir lived a lonesome Red back spider,
who was just about as Hungry as could be;
and the place that he was camped in was an empty Jones’s jam tin
in a paddock near the showgrounds, at Moree.
Near him lay a shearer snoozing, he had been on the grog a boozing
All through the night and all the previous day;
and the rooking of the rookers and the noise of showground spruikers
Failed to wake him from the trance in which he lay.
Then a crafty-looking spieler with he’s dainty little Sheila
Came along, collecting wood to make a fire.
Said the spieler, “there’s a boozer, and he’s gonna to be a loser;
if he isn’t you can christen me a liar.”
“Move around real quiet honey, while I fan the mug for money
and we’ll have us both some luxuries for tea.”
But she answered, “Don’t be silly; you go back and boil the Billy,
You can surly leave this mug to little me.”
So she circled ever nearer till she reached the sleeping shearer
with his pockets bulging, sound asleep and snug;
but she didn’t see the spider that was watching close beside her
for her mind was on the money of the mug.
Well, That spider sighted dinner. He’d been daily growing thinner;
He’d been fasting and was as hollow as a Vase.
And as she eyed the bulging pocket, he just darted like a rocket
and bit the spielers Sheila on the Ass.
Well, the Sheila started squealing and her clothes she was unpeeling,
her yells would wake a Town before the Dawn.
One hand the bite was pressing while the other was undressing
soon she reached her camp the same as she was born.
Then the shearer, pale and haggard, awoke, and back to town he staggered
where he caught the train and gave the booze a rest;
for he never knew that spider, that was camped beside the Gwydir;
that had saved him six Hundred dollars of the best.
