Perhaps when time permits, I can post some of my own work. The latest, called 'Honour Guard,' was intended to be carved in stone, . . . literally. Quoting: Campbell Randt
Campbell,
Sorry, but i missed seeing your post until just now!
Must admit, though, that i am very much looking forward
to reading some of your own works, as well as hearing
the story behind 'Honour Guard' being intended
to be carved in stone. It sounds most intriguing!
'Til then, my best to you...

Beam me up, Scotty! Beam me up soon!
Never mind, Scotty, cuz... "there is no spoon"

Their shameless charade
What are a few lives
When fortunes are made
Murdering millions
To bulge bottom lines
Make tidy profits
On rifles and mines
Backing the butchers
With chemical cakes
Medical murders
That viruses take
Manipulate masses
Through horror and fear
Chip away freedom
While forefathers tear
Sing to the public
A patriot’s song
Enlisting our children
To cover their wrong
Sending our soldiers
Staining the sand
All for the greed
Of future demand
Trade red gold for black
And Tomahawks flown
To place a new prince
On hypocrisy’s throne

Journey to an Unknown Destination
How much further will you take me?
Tell me at which port will drop anchor
this golden boat you are steering?
Whenever I ask you, lady from some foreign land,
sweet-smiling, you only smile,
I fail to understand what you have in mind.
What does your move suggest?
You point your finger in silence
to the overflowing water, endless,
to the sun at one end of the sky
going down in the west.
What is it we shall find there?
Why are we travelling, in which quest?
Tell me, I ask you,
you stranger,
Over there, where the day at evening's call
is burning itself out in a funeral pyre
and waves are flashing like liquid fire
on the backdrop of the molten sky,
where quarters appear
as if about to shed tears,
is that where you live?
Beyond the wave-torn sea,
at the foot of the cloud-kissed hill
where the setting sun disappears?
You smile, looking at my face,
but not a word about where the boat veers.
The wind moans in a constant sigh,
the heaving wave roars in a passion high.
The deep blue water is anguished;
I look around, no bank is to be found,
as if limitless tears flood this earth
and then quiver.
Yet, there plies this golden boat,
there the still still-glowing evening rays float.
Why do you sit amidst it all
in a silent laughter?
It is beyond me to tell why in it you take
so much pleasure.
"Who will come with me"?
When first you had called
I looked at your eyes
on a fresh morn.
You spread your hands westwards to show
the boundless ocean that there flows,
where restless light shimmers
like hope in some breast.
I boarded and asked:
"Does new life await,
does hope's dream reap there
a golden harvest?"
You looked and smiled,
as before, silent.
Since then, clouds have gathered at times,
at times has arisen the sun.
Now the sea was rough, now it looked
a tranquil picture.
Time goes past, the sail moves in the wind,
the golden boat has disappeared, I find.
In the west, the sun descends
towards its hillside rest.
Let me ask you once again:
"Does soothing death here await,
is there peace, can one find sleep,
under this dark's breast?"
You only smile, only your eyes are alive,
there is silence for the rest.
Soon the dark night will spread its wings
and arrive.
The golden light will disappear
from the evening sky.
Now remains only your body scent,
the splashing of water's current.
Your hair, wind-swept
on my body flies.
And when heart fluttering, body benumbed,
anxiously I shall call you and ask,
where are you, come close
let me feel your touch,
you will not speak, and I shall not see
even your silent smile.
In the gap between your thoughts shines something far brighter than the sun, more profound than all of the universe...and too beautiful to even imagine |

O, bright dawn of May
Our mother Hei-shan
We are sons of your rocks
and keepers of your honesty
We love you, the rocky hills
And your awesome gorges
That never came to know
The chains of shameful slavery.
While our unity gives wings
to our Lov-cen cause
Proud shall be, celebrated will be
Our dear homeland.
A river of our waves,
Jumping into two seas,
Will bear voice to the ocean,
That Hei-shan is for eternity.

Or maybe some do???
Anyway. I thought I'd come back here to see whats kickin but it looks like no one has had anything to say in a few days.
Here is a poem just for the sake of keeping this thread going...
Zorro
Zorro will come tomorrow,
He'll come take me into the night,
take me away from everyone in sight.
Under a tree we'll shine our guns,
cooling from the scorching sun.
He'll teach me things I never knew,
he'll show me things that are true.
I'll brush the mane of his black horse,
I'll feel the touch of his hands so coarse.
In the midnight hours we'll ride the night,
together, I'm holding him so tight.
With his black horse, black hat and boots,
with his mysterious mask and that black coat,
Zorro, Oh Zorro, will come for me tomorrow,
Zorro will come, I wrote. |

Here's something a little crude and.. edgy? More of a spoken word thing than a poem I guess.
Our minds have been molded by brainwashing guns, bullshit loaded
The will of the people eroded by the tides of lies drowing eyes blind
So we no longer seem to find truth
As long as truth is hidden behind poisoned fruits
Disconnected from our roots we wander in confusion
The system seasoned our souls with MSG
Now we're too weak for revolution
We still have the power but never use it
While those in power abuse it |

Doom, of course, the only way to make sense of the gloom of the modern age.
The world’s gonna end soon.
Soon implies time, and with a smattering of quantum and meta physics I can prove that time doesn’t exist. But it is an intrusive illusion. And in this temporal pseudo framework, ‘soon’ still might be several million years.
The world’s gonna end soon.
Yes, dear boy, it will; but not in your lifetime. You’ve still got a few decades to go and you’ve lost everything you need to survive.
What will you do now!
The world’s gonna end soon.
