The earth is orbiting the Sun, a bigger mass, yet it rotates on its axis, the moon is orbiting the Earth, yet we only see the same face all the time.

It actually rotates once per revolution around the earth (appx 30 days) which is why we only see the same side.

Hiya. The moon does rotate however the time it takes to rotate is the same time it takes to orbit the earth therefore we never actually see the far side from earth. If you look up stats to compare the moon - earth and sun it is really interesting and there are many strange coincidences and leads to the probability that the moon is not necessary natural

Yeah very strange that it takes EXACTLY the same amount of time as the Earth's rotation without offsets.

Isn't the moons orbit elliptical though... So does that mean it rotates faster when at its furthest point then slows back down again as it gets nearer to earth?? Surely the standard theory would only make sense if the moon perfectly orbited the earth in a circular fashion?

The moon is tidally locked with the earth. It does rotate on its axis.

The earth and its gravity has captured the moon and its rotation. if the moon once had rotation its most massive side has long ago turned toward earth and will remain there until some event changes this.

The moon's elliptical orbit is what causes libration. Overall, observers on Earth can actually see about 59% of the moon's surface as one side and then the other comes into view as the moon orbits the Earth.

I wonder why we cannot see the TONS of evidence that has been withheld from us by the FBI because, wait for it, it is "evidence" and may be used in a "trial".

Moon is 1/40th the size of the sun, but the sun is 40 times further away, giving us the illusion they are the same size and enabling eclipses. Thoth took a gamble when he put the moon there, it added 5 days to the previously 360 day year, think of how when a ballerina spreads out her arms her rotation speed is slowed, adding a moon is similiar.. It must have some significant purposes like enabling us to keep track of time and seasons, and I'm sure their are some other attributes less well known.

Neptune or Uranus (forget which) lays over on its side and rolls around the sun.
The conserve the angular momentum picked up when they formed.
some may have formed elsewhere and been captured by our solar system.

the point you are missing is that in the past earth had lots of moons and they all failed to maintain orbit because they didn't happen to match EXACTLY.

understand?

Re: Why does the Earth rotate on it's axis but the moon doesnt?
The moon was avulsed off of the planet earth by an impact and reaggregated over time.
It should be clear that the planetary mechanism is an induced spin or spiral so anything lacking a spin has been created by other means, most likely by impacts and scattered randomly.

The moon has no spin and is held in place by gravity as a result of conversion of angular momentum at impact at what appears as a geostationary orbit, in fact the spin is slowly drawing the moon farther away over time due to centrifugal forces and it's gravitation flux gradually decreasing over time.

Without the moons stabilization all life and planetary stability becomes impossible.
