Mental retardation seems to be rampant now.

Who would go in and rob a pawn shop, or any other store when they have cameras all over the place?

Ok now the question is who shot the lady and her daughter?

There was one robbery -- long time ago, 15 or 20 years now -- where they had a video camera right up by the counter. Sitting on a tripod -- not mounted to the counter... just sitting there.

The robber comes in, knocks it over and robs the store.

It was all caught on video. The camera by the counter was not even working -- the real video was overhead.

It was amusing to watch the guy thinking he was getting away with it -- but at the same time you had to wonder what the store was thinking. They were making it look like it would be easy to disable the camera and rob the store.

OTOH, it seems like most cameras are out of site -- almost camouflaged. Almost tempting people to steal because it is not obvious that they are being watched. I can see where thieves might walk in and not even think about being on video.

I think the best option is multiple cameras in plain sight a mounted in a way that they can not be easily tampered with. Clearly visible in the parking lot... clearly visible as you walk in the door... clearly visible at the counter. I would put monitors along with them - so you can see that the camera is real. "Smile, you are on camera... for your safety, and ours.'

Now guess the state, oh it's already in title.

Some time ago, I worked for an exclusively criminal defense lawyer. He had a client who was charged with robbery of a store. Client demanded a trial - demanded!

There was footage and very clear footage of him that the state had as evidence. I saw it. It was a clear cut picture of his face. No doubts at all there, yet he wanted his trial. lololol.

Needless to say, the lawyer didn't oblige.

If you know Florida, you could play 'guess the county'.

Eh, everyone deserves a trial. Even if there is a mountain of evidence against you, every human being deserves their day in court.

It's part of the Constitution, you can't just cherry pick the parts that you like.

I think it's racist to rob a pawn shop. I think it's racist to take others' stuff when it does not belong to you.

In the past, I have been a little more relaxed about such things, etc. Now, everyone is struggling in this economy and I am quite sick and tired of it.

What makes a person think they are more deserving of property than the true owner, who has worked and paid for it.

It's very simple. Call it what you will. How about "thuggist" instead of racist. It has nothing to do with race. It has to do with if the shoe fits, friggin' wear it.

Wow. Reminds me of that write up done by a defense lawyer for inner city thugs.

He explained that there's some kind of aberration of thought process with most of them...as if they are incapable of seeing facts.

He mentioned a case where the guy aggressive beat a woman during a robbery, all caught on tape.

When the lawyer explained to the criminal that he shouldn't go to trial since the video evidence was damaging...the criminal said "so? Why would the jury care about that woman? None of them know her."

After reading that write-up, my eyes were opened to the very real problem he was explaining... Many of these criminals lack the ability to empathize with victims and see their crimes as occurring in a solitary bubble that allows them free reign to commit aggression.

I wish these thugs went after the people who DIDNT work for it...the elite who happened to born into a powerful family.

But instead, the elite make sure the middle class workers get screwed through taxes and targets of crime

Draw picture cause some can not read. One thing you could do if you own a store, tell them you have ungraded your security to robotic with sensor, it see and detects when someone is thinking of robbing the store, so it will shoot the person before the do harm. If you are go to do sometime do it well. People watch movies, they believe it. Draw detailed pictures. The walls are full of them.

Heck, if you do it well, you can make them think it is, so.

The mother and grandmother were shot by the two suspects trying to rob the car. My wife knows the daughter of the mother that was killed. She is on the relay for life in Bartow. She is devastated and in shock. I just don't know what to say. It was fucking senseless. The daughter of the mother killed used to go to our kids birthday parties. ..

Very sad about the 2 women. The way these thugs just kill people for convenience is repugnant beyond words. it's time to bring back public hangings. Or better yet Coliseum games where they can generate revenue to pay back their victims instead of sucking the system for free lawyers and life in prison. Let them fight each other to the death for the entertainment of the masses and enlightenment of the criminal class. They deserve nothing short of a painful death. Public executions would do more to deter crime than anything else we can possibly do.
