We know that our planet will not last forever. This news that a planet orbiting a nearby star in the goldilocks zone is Big news to be announced to the public.. I suspect it must be inhabited by various life forms depending on atmosphere and water content. |

It's just a matter of time. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Three nearly Earth-size planets found orbiting nearby star: One in 'Goldilocks' zone NASA's Kepler Space Telescope has discovered a star with three planets only slightly larger than Earth. The outermost planet orbits in the 'Goldilocks' zone -- where surface temperatures could be moderate enough for liquid water and perhaps life to exist. The star ranks among the top 10 nearest stars known to have transiting planets. The star's close enough for astronomers to study the planets' atmospheres to determine if they could possibly be conducive to life The "Nearest" star is roughly 4 light years ago. You'll be dust before we get to the Moon... |

Excuse my condescending tone, you must only be around 14 |

We have the technology now to study the atmosphere on some of these plants looking for oxygen. In future times it is possible to devise another mode of space travel than the crude way we have today. I would love to be 14 again knowing what I know now. |
