That you are also thinking about this issue. I have a real bad feeling about Switserland. It could spiral so quick out of control. Also when Greece will default. We were always thinking the USA would be the trigger. |

If you're self reliant you have nothing to worry about. Time was when it was expected we were self-reliant; it's just about getting back to our roots. Enough to take care of my family. what I don't have enough of is cash, to pay my house taxes. for that matter, my mortgage either, if there are no jobs. I can last a while but how long is a "while" enough? I have many plans for making money if I don't have a job, but what if most people don't have jobs or anything to pay me with? |

All my blood family died from cancer. Got a little money from my parents house and paid my small mortgage. My house is not finished, needs a new roof ect. I would love to do the roof, but do not know what to do hold on to the cash or do the roof. The cash might be worth nothing soon. It is driving me mad. It is scary times indeed my friend. Stay strong, at least here we can speek to each other. Take care |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 67111399 Forget buying a car. they reposess cars first, before they take your house. I would just buy a second hand one with cash from around 5000 euros would they reposess that also? |

As i said prepping is good but solitude will be the biggest threat , worry and stress can bring you down faster than anything , once civil unrest explodes any one can be a target being a foreigner puts you at an immediate disadvantage . The Baltic states showed us how thing's can develop and deteriorate very very quickly. Use this litmus test /scenario,,,, thing's are bad, money unavailable, food in short supply , violence escalating and closing on your home area, would you prefer to face this alone /couple or face it with a small group. Unless you are a lone wolf you would pick a small group, it surprised me on many occasions how people who were insecure on their own actually thrived and coped better whilst comforting or aiding other less secure people , they change their focus. |

Where should i buy it from? Then burn your money now because soon it will be worthless. The ECB will start to print money like crazy because Greece will default of course because they will never pay their debt that's certain, all the rest of Europe will pay for greece with hyperinflation that,s why the Swiss said enough and pulled out. |

I am no different than you ,i am full of uncertainty , my nature would not allow me to turn away a person in desperate need (i doubt if their is one person on this site who could turn away a child or leave an old person freeze to death) so i will follow my nature for good or bad. The mind is a funny thing people tend to gain strength from comforting less fortunate or more frightened people. I do not advocate giving away supplies or feeding everyone and I understand meager supplies will be exhausted quicker but there is security in numbers. It all depends on how long and how bad but going solitary will be mentally exhausting very quickly. |
