kodi/xbmc on q-box...anyone use this android TV system

Its great but they are getting rid of sportsdevil. But ive used it for the last year and a half. Beats paying the cable bill. Its got every movie and tv show ever made

Android Box, PC, what?

Yes running Kodi on a PC but you can also get these devices like pen sticks on ebay that plug in to the HDMI socket on the back of your TV and it's a bit like using a Amazon Firestick from what i can see.

Kodi replaced xbmc from what i understand, its the new standard.

if you have a smart TV then you do know it's giving out back-door permanat cookies using your IP-Address to the likes of Google, Youtube, Facebook !

Samsung TV are the worse, won't even let you use a proxy server because they are uploading so much from your TV and don't want you to know it.

Do not run Firefox from any Android device because it now uses DLNA to scan your network and then uploads serial numbers of device on your LAN back to central servers and it's not even like Firefox allows you to use "Play To" from it's browser so they have no excuse to be using DLNA at all.

I`ve been using for 4 months now, its awesome once you have a proper setup. I used an older desktop PC and it`s used as my smart tv hub. There are ISO images you can make with the program. and install just like you would do with windows.

If it's a plugin that's not working, find another.
If it's Kodi itself.
Pull out power. Leave off for 10mins.
Power back on.
Go to settings.
Apps
kodi/settings/delete cache.
Restart Kodi

I did an uninstall, then reinstall. Is there anyway I can get my favorites and add on back, saved somewhere, sytem restore? or do I have to install each one over. Like primewire and genisis?

I have a mygica android that came preinstalled with xbmc and addons, I think a factory restore would not return the add ons it came with, what do you think?

XBMC is the old Kodi, so depending on what the specs are like, you may want to install isenguard then try, try again.

I think you should look for some rooted firmware for that particular device, just like rooting a smart phone. Lots of info out there. If the box has on OTG port, you can hook it up to a pc and play around.

On android you need to do a tweak before you reinstall or you will lose the settings.

Rename the kodi data folder to something else before you reinstall and when updated restore the kodi data folder name.

If you don't do that you lose all your settings.

Turn what on, and using what?

If anything, go in to apps, select Kodi and away you go.

I plug in the power cable but get nothing - no noise, no lights etc

Remote doesn't do shit.

Kodi is the sheeit...look like the old xbmc but it seems to run much faster.

Turn it over, look for a hole where you can see a brass/gold looking button, that's the reset thingy.

what are you guys buying? kodi is fucking free. use a laptop or cell. you dont have to buy anything for it. xbmc became kodi not the other way. User your laptop to stream it to your tv via display port to hdmi adapter or if your laptop has hdmi use it. It is a viable replacement for cable if you are sumwhat techi
