Isn't that the perfect game to show your survival skills. What if you "randomly" decide to play in a server. And the spawn is a post apocalyptic deserted place. Very hard to get out of. And you have to travel a long way and manage a way to survive. What if your soul is linked to your character. And wherever he goes and whatever you do happens in the astral (or somewhere else). So they just watch thousands of people trying to save their soul in a test they would have considered fair. |

Hmm that's one of the most profound things I've read on this site, it's very true when you think about it. When you play a game your way, you are effectively uploading your DNA code to a server. Very interesting. It's one of the reasons I enjoy playing vs humans in multiplayer games, you can rarely predict what everyone's going to do, there's always someone who takes a different approach, infinite possibilities given the right code. I'm sure DARPA have been on this for decades though. Have you seen the movie"the last starfighter"? It's very much alike to what you're saying. |

You sound like you just watched the this movie from the 80's. The video game was an alien test of skill. Last Edited by Useless Cookie Eater on 01/20/2015 07:04 PM |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 65362350 You have absolute power over this world, you're bored and out of ideas. Then it occurs to you, why not make video games have direct influence over peoples lives. Like instead of stupid IQ tests, they observe you playing logic games. They test your endurance with hard long games. etc. Why stop there, make dying in games real deaths, maybe everyone is given 1 million lives and every time you die in a game you lose one. Or you die in some strange way you don't notice until being revived the next day. Maybe every time you start playing a game you are being broadcasted for the enjoyment of thousands of 'aliens'. They might even pay to help you in your quests, providing some items in shops. Or play as an npc trying to kill you. And if they kill you they get a reward (paid by the money you don't know you posses) When you play an MMO they can choose to appear to you, helping you in quests. I don't know I just think it's a possible way things have evolved. And if I can think of it it is certainly possible. |
