From California, worried about drought...
What kind of things should we expect this year once the "rainy" season passes?

Chaos?
Martial Law?
Doom?

Or just hype?

Maybe I’m just paranoid, no thanks to GLP!

As California starts a new water measurement cycle—and faces a fourth year of severe drought—another dry winter could be a tipping point for the country's top agricultural producer.

"This year is crucial," said Michael Hanemann, professor and environmental economist at the W.P Carey School of Business at Arizona State University.

"A third winter of low rain would be extremely painful," he said. "If we have one or two dry winters we can get through that. But the lack of water this winter would have a significant economic impact on agriculture that hasn't been felt before."

the mega rich in california will have to be taxed more to support the superstate. They can move and let the state fail, then most of them can watch their billions dwindle as the industry that makes up their wealth fails with it.

Desalination seems to be your only option at this point. Enjoy paying for it.

You should be worried. Move away from there. Drought only scratches the surface. Seriously....move away.

Yeah it sucks when your bug out location is over a thousand miles from home ... Southern California is such an incredible trap really, a few main corridors cut off and your only choice is the Mexi's, the Mojave, or the main corridor! Hence why I spend so much time trying to gauge my head start on here!! Even just a few hours may be the difference.

You can expect more political bull shit. This is a political fight to privatize water or take control to regulate it.

I live in the central valley of california. it is an agribusiness mecca. many billionaires and privately owned farms.

E&J Gallo
Foster Farms
Hilmar Cheese

100's of dairy farms milking over 3500 cows twice a day on carousel milkers. Milk is just 90+% water

there is a 13700 square mile aquifer that lies beneath the Turlock aquifer.....how much water do you think is in there?

IMHO there isnt any water storage. just political people selling doom to get votes to control sheat.

if its truly a problem, they should be charging the wealthy farmers more for the use. They are already overpaid for their commodities as it is.

grow your own food people. you can grow all you need in your sideyard with a bit of sun.

Shortage, there isnt any water shortage. i incorrectly typed storage. The aquifer is our storage. and its got lots.

also, Donelle reseviour, has plenty

also, its goint to rain a lot in the next few years..just sayin

Yeah. Rain in SoCal. But the water comes from the north, which I see another 2 weeks of dry weather here.

It's not looking good. Computer Models keep showing a High Amplitude Ridge over the West Coast which will block winter storms. San Jose so far has had 0.00" of rain in January so far. That will be history right there if the rest of January is dry here, which looks like it.
