Pelicans are amazing. They look kind of ugly and awkward until they start flying.

Then you can see how graceful they are. They just skim the water, gliding along.

No, their throats weren't touched.

If they were the animals would die instantly, no, here the poor animal can't feed itself because any food it catches will fall through the slit. This is being done because pelicans are a nuisance to fishermen and dockworkers. More than likely thats where you'll find your culprit.

I don't know.. something "fishy" here with this story because pelicans have razor sharp beaks and can slice and dice anyone that tries to catch them.

About 10 birds have died, and another four were injured, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. The culprit apparently used a knife to slit the large gullets beneath their beaks, spokesman Robert Dube said.

The birds use the oversized poaches to swallow fish skimmed from the water. Once slashed, they can starve to death.

"It's a slow, agonizing death for these animals," Dube said.

The maimed pelicans have been turning up around the lower Florida Keys, located in the southernmost part of the state.

Scavenging flying rats. Sons of bitches are almost guaranteed to go after your bait fish. I've caught them before, and it's a pain in the ass to retrieve your tackle. And the really wild part? The stupid shits will go right back after your bait when you recast.
