A terrorist can use a bomb as a threat to the crew / passengers to gain control of the aircraft. The fighter jets are there in case a hijacker decides to recreate 911. That is, to shot the plane down before it becomes a missile.

The fighter jets were obviously scrambled AFTER the Twitter threat was substantiated no twitter itself couldn't scramble an egg

You're forgetting Ft Hood, Virginia Tech (unsure if that classifies as terrorism but the former does), etc. Meaning a minimum of 12 deaths and a maximum of nearly 40.

Well you just know its true if its posted on twitter and twitter actualy sends the tweet to hundreds of people.

Twitter has become a joke with bots doing most of the tweets that are mixed in with adverts and propaganda the state wants you to read.

Tweet something from one account and then pick a new IP address and login from a second account to see that many of your tweets never see the light of day.

We are seeing an over reaction again in the US and one more step towards the police state.
