F16 crashes after 'losing power during training exercise' killing 10 people

AN F16 fighter jet crashed after "losing power during a training exercise" killing 10 people today.
e incident left another 13 people injured after the plane crashed shortly after take-off at an air base near Madrid, Spain.

A defence ministry spokesman said the F16 crashed during a NATO training exercise shortly after take-off. A statement said: "The plane, part of the Tactical Leadership Programme of NATO was carrying out a (training) exercise when during the take-off the plane lost power, crashing into the parking area for planes, crashing into various planes that were parked there,"

Firefighters are currently working to put out a fire at the base and the area has been cordoned off.
