"God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, & always, well informed... If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty... Let them take arms... What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. " - Thomas Jefferson in 1787 |

Be Careful. Stay HOME. Quoting: LadyJayne Women drivers and snow. LOL Good One. I have been living in NJ all my life, and have been driving for over 3 decades. This is my first ever snow/ice accident. It was black ice, I went up an embankment and hit a pole, went back down the embankment, and kept going over a small bridge about 50 yards further and then managed to stop. Black Ice. My First experience with it. Not Fun. Thank you to Everyone for the good thoughts. I am So Very Lucky. LadyJayne |

I'm 25 miles inland, and had two really slidey, scary moments whilst driving very carefully in my AWD car. It was slick for sure. When the shit hits the fan and the end is just nigh, will you cry out to Heaven? Will you lie down and die? Not me, my dear one - THIS IS MY SACRED LIFE - to no one nor no thing I'll surrender. For how does one know where when dead she will go, or if sweet Mother Earth he'll remember? - Sug |

You have to know how to handle the slide....it goes with the territory. If you have never driven in snow before, and to avoid being a menace to others, take this storm opportunity to go find an empty parking lot tonight and DELIBERATELY do donuts and slides with the car IN and OUT of 4WD/AWD. You will gain VAST amounts in understanding of how to handle your car in snow. DO IT! Last Edited by Useless Cookie Eater on 01/26/2015 03:01 PM |

LadyJayne (OP) User ID: 41057007 United States 01/26/2015 03:10 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | My Dream Car, was the VW Beetle. It was a 2007, green, and it only had 32000 miles on it. I loved it. It had the ESP button for anti-skid, which I had on of course. I was only going about 25 at the time so thank god for that. I had it for only 2 days shy of 5 months. Crap. I'm ok though. So....It's all good. Or I hope it will be. LadyJayne |

Dare I ask the events that unfolded leading to your new cars demise?...and what kind of car? You had to hit pretty hard to bend the roof up as a I read in another thread. |
