So, I started reading the Qur'an, It's a feel good book for one who is lacking common sense and an education.

My favorite verse so far is 2:164

"Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and earth, and the alternation of the night and the day, and the [great] ships which sail through the sea with that which benefits people, and what Allah has sent down from the heavens of rain, giving life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness and dispersing therein every [kind of] moving creature, and [His] directing of the winds and the clouds controlled between the heaven and the earth are signs for a people who use reason."

First off, apparently Allah made 7 heavens and earth, but this verse fails to mention that he could have possibly just created everything. This book really likes to emphasize that Allah knows everything about everything.

I'm pretty sold on the fact rain is a process of precipitation and am not fooled that its falling from the heavens.

Winds and clouds, I can rest assured, are not controlled by one of the seven heavens.

I'm going to finish the Qur'an, but I think it should be updated as Allah didn't know the basics of precipitation when it was written.

No it's not. Allah is pretty clear on that prior to that verse.

A muslim would call a disbeilver on figurative speech every time!

It's a good toilet book I find.

Especially if you run out of toilet paper.

This is what I hate about old books and their parallels with modern religions.

Allah clearly didn't know anything.
